Interesting that red cedar is very common, given that it has some toxicity. I know it's nasty to chew your pencil but lots of people do. https://www.wood-database.com/western-red-cedar/

I kind of like the erasers on the new Blackwings. They're not precise, but they don't stain.

A dab of hot glue on the end of the pencil before putting on the eraser might help, but what a pain the a**.

I wonder if it sharpens well enough if hand whittled? If so I would imagine this as the perfect worksite notes pencil.

It's always very nice to have the wood grain exposed through the length of the pencil. I'd love to watch a full hour of you writing or drawing, whilst talking close to the mic. I really liked that video you made a few years ago, where you showed how you made the tiny Bauhaus-inspired painting.
