I know I’m not the first to inquire the music selection, but the dark ambient music you’ve used in eps 1-4 is perfect for Call of Cthulhu. I’ve wanted to find it all to use in my own sessions. If anyone knows, please inform me!

egage

These tabletop episodes are why I proudly sponsor. Pls make these a regular feature.

Peter Muellerleile

Haha awww I think Matt did a bit too much “ether”

LustyGirl

Im in love with episodes 😂😂😍😂

VitAnyaNaked

The Thinking Cat...Former Cthulhu Pofit Neo Normie and Masked fat guy but now a Cat ??

This is hilarious but no Eric Trump and his Wine Factory 😋

Sash

this is exactly how I ever wanna engage in any kind of gaming

weedworf

What is the name of the piece of music at the begining????

TV Marty Tonight

I love these episodes.

Allyson D

i listen to this episode once a week. also i cant tell you how amazing the ending song is. i literally picture McClaine singing it

Carlos Morstti

Not a fan of your other Tabletop episodes, but this one was awesome. I died when you started describing a furry coming down from the sky accompanied by Neon Genesis opener

Ted Spas

Folks, the Cthulhu episodes are good.

Tyler Kurth

Jesus Christ y'all there's been four of these in like, 8 months. I'm sure you can deal with it if you don't enjoy them

peepos

fuk u. I will hold the headphone to ur head

jv

yes please make a spin off so CTH fans don't have to listen to tabletop GT

Justin Kirkland

I would happily pay an additional $5 a month to hear the Capone Speakeasy spin off show. These gaming episodes are brilliant. I look forward to Will developing his character into a self published fan fiction novel, as is his destiny.

David Sacks

This was great. I liked it A LOT more than the Pizza-gate one. I think a ton of credit has to go to Brendan on this one. The music and sound design was fantastic INCLUDING how it just cut out whenever Matt started banging his head on the fourth wall. There were many genuinely LOL moments, but I think the best is at the end where Matt genuinely/disbelievingly asks, "The cum jar??" followed by Virgil's impatient, final straw, "NO!" I've never role-played, but I think I finally get it. It seems super dependent on a good DM, and Virgil knocked it out of the park with this one.

Eric Trylinski

The weeb in me is pleased by the junji ito image you chose for this

Andy Karas

is matt ok

Erik Weissengruber

The Book of Eibon was HPL's sharing of his correspondent Clark Ashton Smith's mythos. CAS was slightly less racist, a real alcoholic, but much much more sexually decadent than HPL. His stories "The Coming of the White Worm" "The Door of Saturn" "Ubbo-Sathla." The Double Shadow Podcast is dedicated to reading from and commenting on CAS's work. Weird fiction fans should check it out. But no politics. Check: http://thedoubleshadow.com/?s=eibon

Taha Soulaymane Brich

The fight over who gets Ivanka and Matt's frustration with his abilities made me rofl.

...

You people telling yourselves these are good episodes are going to be good sheep when the revolution comes

Phillip Millspaw

I admire Matt's commitment to not meta-gaming even if it seemed like it caused him physical angst

Sarah Legeza

These are awesome! I would subscribe to a podcast that is entirely these games.

Kevin Beteta

I'll settle for givin money to an overtly political comedy podcast. I already subscribe to cum town for my uncut Colombian jokes

Garett Miller

If you want political commentary, read a fucking book

Kevin Beteta

Honestly I feel like these episodes should be supplemented by normal episodes just like Felix's solo eps are in addition to vanilla content. I mean I'm sure Virgil puts in a lot of effort into this but the rest of you are just playing a fucking board game with microphones. I like these episodes but it does leave me with dirtbag left blue balls. I pay you for your political commentaries not because I just think you're great fun guys I want to pretend that I'm hanging out with for 2 hours a week

Allyson D

this was the funniest shit ever i love you people

Sam Tjahjono

^^^ Felix's white spoken-word jazz is one of the funniest parts of these IMO. The "windowpane" line was a great parody of spoken-word/slam cliches

Sam Tjahjono

Well, the episode they just released has Tim back on board, so there ya go. I say the more diversity in ep content, the better

TeeJi

These are awesome! Moar stolen valor plz

phillip

Science fiction and gaming are both bad. A couple of these was fine but if this is like 1/3 of yalls ouput now idk. Free cush

Ian Renfro

Matt reveals why he's not a gamer. Breaking too many controllers

Tony Brut

This was so good, a classic moment that happens in RPG's is when players don't know what to do. Major League Gaming DYE POOI

Martin Kasey

Also excellent satire, which I could enjoy despite limited exposure to and zero investment in the Lovecraft universe (never actually read him). a timely critique of dark and paranoid narratives.

Martin Kasey

I fucking love these and Ive never played a table top game and I don't know what Twitter is. Maybe listening context is important? I listen lying down and just get totally absorbed like I'm reading a really weird novel

jv

I don't enjoy these, don't do too many please

Samuel Roberts

Amendment: bring on Tim Foust to tabletop yourselves into obscurity.

Samuel Roberts

Along similar lines: whose recording is that of The Planets? I liked the conductor's choices with the rubato at the end there. (Ideally year/conductor/orchestra if you have it, bc finding classical music recordings can be super-weird)

Jlep

So good do more

Megan McCarthy

OMG THANK YOU ❤️❤️❤️

Chapo Trap House

La Mer by debussy - brendan

Megan McCarthy

Ok for real though, if anyone knows which symphony the opening music is from please tell me. Its been killing me. I've listened to about 7hours now of potential scores and I might loose my mind soon if I can't remember.

Kieran Monaghan

These episodes are maybe the best and most imaginitive thing that you have done. I love them. They are funny, surreal and eerie at the same time. Don't listen to the whiners. Great job Virgil GMing and Brendan with the sick audio. To all the crybabies who don't get this show format: The problem is with you, who have not read HPL of played tabletop RPGs. The show is not boring, YOU ARE BORING.

Daddy HotRod O'Burger

your boring

shuronic

love these episodes, brendan does a great job with audio backdrop

ah

If you are a big enough nerd to listen to irony political podcasts you are a big enough of a nerd to enjoy irony role playing

doohoohoo

they do two novelty shows a year you goddamn nerds, have a sense of proportion

Vesna Radivojevic

I love you all, but this is boring. You can't just tabletop game yourself back into obscurity, now that you are big fucking deal. Bring Tim Faust to talk about single payer.

Allan Castellon

That's fucking rad

Save The World

Oh god this is amazing. Never stop doing this. the way it just started to collapse around mclain and the jar dick reminds me so much about so many campaigns that I played in. this if fucking great.

Matthew Clark

I don’t mind this game or whatever it is. I haven’t listened to any of them though so idk really. But there’s just so much going on in the political world that I would like to hear you guys talk about instead of doing this.

Twitter user Duck Honkin

ENOUGH ALREADY

Ben Huber

Fuck the haters, the Cthulhu games are hilarious and *extremely irony-less nerd voice* very well written roleplaying adventures. Virgil is a great GM and all the investigators are becoming real characters. Also, all of Matt's frustrations are what make this real pen-and-paper Cthulhu hours. These are Art.

Kevin Beteta

I have to say I am genuinely grateful that these two episodes are taking place around one of the biggest MSM controversies regarding Chapo Trap house. The less credence given to this bullshit the better

Erik Umenhofer

That author has some good seafood related horror manga.

Sameer Nayak

That Radio Save America mention.

CJ Canton

LOL Matt was angry that he created a character who's useless at fighting haha.

Alex Leo Swenson

It's a Lovecraft portrait by Junji Ito

Shivvy

white jazz spoken word tho

Tom Lorre

It should be "Liber Ivani".

hamburglar

Barron Trump stuff = lol Also the inside jokes and references were thicc, maybe too thicc. How many people actually get the cat girl joke?

Kimo Carew

is this game ever going to end... I admit I am lost and missing the insider jokes.

Forrest Marie

what is the cover image from??

Forrest Marie

SOOOO INCREDIBLE!!!

Andrew McIntyre

I expected Walt Disney, but "John Mcclain" works pretty well too.

Neuronin

Cushbomb complaining about the investigators not figuring out any mysteries is the most realistic part.

Thomas Figueroa

"The hot meteorite melts the dick." I laughed so hard at that whole scene.

HT Dong

why didn't you ever do anything with the jar of cum

Kyle LoPinto

When Virgil alluded to Matt's powerful artifact and he said with genuine confusion "the cum jar?" I laughed so hard I started gagging

Dan Collins

These were hilarious, replace Matt with someone who won't be a whiny bitch next time though.

Jonathan Hart

You guys are high as a kite and it's hilarious to listen. I consider this not boring, but only in the abstract art sense. I rate it in between Warhol's Heat and Damon's Gerry... unsure leaning which way.. but definitely in between.

SF

The tabletop eps are incredible and I hope Mr Texas and the boys keep going with them. I get that they're divisive and you should stick to only doing them once a year or so, but honestly the tabletop eps rank among my all-time favourites

Les Doodis

I think Chapo should do whatever they want. I also think this was incredibly boring. Matt speaks for me.

RickUVC

adding a comment in support of these. you guys do them once in a blue moon which is a great balance for ppl who don't like it vs people like me who get entertainment out of it. these eps are a tribute to the theme of gaming that is often a gag on left twitter + chapo. if you've played tabletop games you will probably enjoy these

AU

Evolution is a mystery Full of change that no one sees. Clock makes a fool of history.

Jake

i haven't even listened to this yet but the series has been grand entertainment.

Big Cheesin'

Matt you gonna be okay?

Michael Benedetto

RIP Lemmy

Emily Dumbass

Guess that's why you call it window pane.. Some real fuckin poetry there, son, Thank you.

Christopher Snape

people generally don't read the bible

Philip Abitua

Hopefully Matt will kibosh future game episodes

Rhaban

Fuck that shit, keep em' coming.

Preston Mui

These episodes are fun and you make them exactly as often as you should.

jwhy23

These have been fun but please don't make another one

this...mmmguy

These tabletop episodes suck guys

Josh
