Phil Hostak

Oh that's fucking brilliant. Almost makes me want to listen to that (for me) otherwise unlistenable podcast.

Ellen Harold

Heinz hits the bliss point. No other compares. I suspect Tarragon may be the reason, partly.

Ivan

no idea, did she?

didn't she try to kill herself a few months ago or something?

Ivan

yall should do a Balkans ep w/ Lily Lynch from The Balkanist

Phil Hostak

That would be awesome. Phonetic spellings of all words and names massacred by Felix and Will.

Zen Ben

One of the things that I admire about Chapo is that they train their biggest guns on real conservative intellectuals who have by-lines in established print publications. They don’t waste too much time on minor Pepe losers on Twitter. They punch up, like good socialists.

Ed Irwin

Meghan wants to give schoolkids little plastic keys to wear around their necks for when they charge school shooters.

Phil S Stein

Megan has obviously done her homework. Exactly this is happening in Australia at the moment. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-02-13/exploited-foreign-workers-falling-into-blackhole/9418976

Holy Shit.http://glenweyl.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Headshot2016.jpg

Stephen Robbins

As an immigration attorney I’ve done dozens of consultations with white people who bring in “their” immigrant with the hopes of being able to “sponsor” them. White people literally think this is how it works.

Phil Hostak

Where's the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom! https://youtu.be/qu9gva2LZBw

Jake

I love Matt, but nobody sounds more like Master Shake than Matt when he's worked up.

Weoooo

Fiverr was where you'd pay a guy 5 bucks to yell at a bush. Clearly, it's the vision of the future.

Brandon R

probably the funniest Chapo so far

Lucas Potter VII

7 months. That's how long it would take these immigrants, working 40 hours per week at Five dollars an hour, to JUST pay for their 6000 passage. Fucking heinous.

Elise

May I suggest you move that umlaut from “prost” (prosit) to “tschüss”

Gnome Choomsky

This whole gig economy reminds me a lot of the movie Dogville... Any of you seen that?

Frederick Von Drasek

..."I think man is the most interesting insect on earth." Holy shit, they're fuckin' twins...

no

Seriously, I work in a pretty high-paying industry where H1-B visaholders have been heavily used as substitutes for American workers and they are regularly underpaid and overworked, with contracts that have them often working up to 70-80 hour weeks. They are regularly shuffled around the country by the companies that manage them and get separated from spouses and children in the process.

Josh Mattyasovszky

Dear god will one of the other Chapos please play the Metal Gear games, I feel so bad for Felix every time he deep cuts a reference

Antti Helin

The fact that E-Poz's scheme is similar to H1-B and J-1 visas is not an argument in favour of his scheme but an argument against the H-1B and J-1 programs. H-1B allows you to get a green card eventually, but the backlog for the applications is several years long and all that time you need to have an employer sponsor you. Also H-1B workers are way underpaid (= exploited) compared to people in similar jobs who don't have H-1Bs. With both H-1B and J-1 you are bound to your sponsor/employer unless you can find a new one quickly or manage to change your status to something else. One thing E-Poz's scheme also conveniently forgets is dependents. What about Sofia's children? It really is just an au pair program but everyone is supposed to get in on the exploitation, not just the upper middle class - and obviously it doesn't solve any of the real problems with immigration in the US today, namely that there's a huge swath of second-tier Americans and labourers who don't have any rights and whose lives are subject to political whim.

Dan Blair

Great episode....listening to it during a teeth cleaning and kept laughing and spitting water on the dental assistant wearing a jesus fish necklace and a disgusted scowl.

John Harwood

i don't imagine that y'all listen to irish sports podcasts (except maybe felix), but ken early of second captains just did a fantastic interview of a normie academic and IT columnist (laura kennedy) on jordan peterson's book. he lets her hoist herself on her own petard, and does so brilliantly. early would be a great guest; an excellent writer, he's in our tribe, and there would be a lot of opportunities to work the irish jokes angle. ;)

Kyle LoPinto

Will is 100% right that you guys should do a show on Lilly

hot_local

Listen, I know you guys are hyped for your own book but... How about reading us more of that Seagal master piece? Or did you already get a cease and desist?

Daniel J Lynch

I cant listen to post malone till we find out if he likes trump. I think that dude is a milkshake duck to the fullest

Robby Vocke

Please hire Jordan Peterson to record the audiobook of your book.

Tom Berman

I'm extremely here for Matt quoting Professor Brothers by heart

Arthur Fretheim

Too bad Amazon doesn't have a category for Guardianship of the Jurist

no

matt saying “tschuss” instead of “pröst” is so fucked up

Phillip Millspaw

Great, chill, shit-talking episode. Loved it.

Erik Weissengruber

42% trying to create product or service where there is no market. Invite a Peruvian to join in that fumbling.

Same

Phil Hostak

Once again, Kermit, no; Master Shake, no; Jordan is Marvin the Martian. https://youtu.be/LkbWF-kDK8Y

Igor Calija

Bastards aren't available on bookdepository yet, and Amazon charges an arm and a leg for delivering to my neck of the jungle.

Jack Poulson

I'm glad Chapo brought their nocs to the crossroads on this one.

Jonathan Boud

Will this book be on sale in the UK at any point? If not, can anyone put me up for a couple of days in the summer?

Ryan Palm

If u do an east coast show PLZ come to Baltimore

ghvghvgh

Oh my god professor brothers reference "Let's just fuck this duck, shall we?"

ghvghvgh

"Smash that into my butthole!" Will Menaker

TV Marty Tonight

Just so you know, Matt, I got your reference to "The Critic".

PROFESSOR BROTHER FREENK

DoctorCocktopus

In a book, would they misspell all the words they mispronounce on their podcast?

Stu Sherman

Indiebound

Haemu

Lot's of angry lifestylists in the comments. Do yall go around scolding people for having Iphones and calling themselves socialists? If you're mad at paying the wrong person, just steal the book. Otherwise, shut up and stop pretending you participate in an elevated form of capitalism.

chili cheese a plenty

OH NO AN AMAZON LINK, CHAPO IS AARON ECKHART IN BATMAN

Hank Single

Michal, that idea is not supposed to be used to absolve yourself of choosing convenience over the well being of other workers. 'Capitalism is inherently evil, so there's nothing more wrong with buying blood diamonds from Amazon' is dumb as heck.

Hank Single

Including a link to buy from one of the worst employers on earth is crummy. Practice what you preach.

stink nasty

Bret Stephens sounds is a lost Mark McKinney character.

Chapo Trap House

read to the bottom of the episode description

Michal Dzurenda

It's coming out under Touchstone, who are a subsidiary of Simon & Schuster who belong to CBS. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism ( but Verso, Repeater, Zero or Haymarket would have been nicer I guess ).

Hampus Bystrom

fuck off i haven't yet

Sabo

Is there a way I can order the book straight through the publishers rather than Amazon or B&N (since they're evil)?

gamethatneverends

But... do you really think marketing “Buy Our Book” so hard to patreon supporters is wise? We’ve all already preordered it

SLEAZOIDS podcast
