That sucks, but I get it. Hearing him on Chapo the last year or so and hearing him on Bad Faith it's pretty clear that podcasting is taking a psychic toll on him and he'd be happier in more solitary activities. He was a great addition to the lineup and added a lot to the chemistry but he shouldn't do it if it's grinding on him the way it so clearly was, which I totally recognize as someone who also often feels the same "i don't like that go away i don't want to do that stop talking to me stop trying to make me talk or do things or like things" energy.

Ridiculous prediction: Chapo are trying to figure out when and how the show will come to an end (my guess is episode 666.) The show started in a very different world and probably lasted longer and demanded more than anyone initially expected. Though awesome, it makes total sense to want to move on to new projects and directions that this podcast doesn't fit with. I hope y'all keep going, but if it's coming to an end in the next couple years, it's been a reliable touchpoint of sanity for a lot of us who never had this kind of media or political discussion in our respective areas. I loved Chapo before and I love it now, but the vibe definitely changed after Bernie was out again in 2020. Before that, national-level electoralism was still an earnest/hopeful topic on the show, and now it's not.
