Went back to this one. Pretty clairvoyant, especially ideas about the carpet bombing to destroy Hamas tunnels being a necessary condition of Israel “winning” in Gaza, and every victim of IDF murder being cast as the moral responsibility of Hamas/a human shield propaganda tactics. Both now being carried out to extreme extents :(
Speaking i*raeli wow you hasbarist are pathetic enough to post on Patreon. As someone whose family member’s murder is linked to an i*raeli i would say even worse. One bc i*raeli is a nationality like Australian. I don’t feel bad when a colonial nationality is made fun off.

Marxism as in "workers unite" is a profoundly useless lens for Palestine. The history of Zionist settlement is fundamentally intertwined with European worker-centric utopianism, it's all absorbable by ethnocentric nationalism. Marxism as in "let's look at Israel's particular place in the global capitalist system, esp how its control over Palestinians makes it a security superpower" is more to the point. This is what Jeff Halper does in the brilliant War Against The People, and he's been proven 100% right so far.

“Shouldn’t go overboard” and do something like overhearing some people speaking Israeli behind me In line as I start to think”filthy rentier fuckers how many Palestinian Children did you merc today”... yeah that would be bad.

Yes it is, along with Yemen, the two most clear cut genocides on this planet in modern time. The media won’t cover this if we don’t bring attention to it.

Well, all any of us can do is further the cause of solidarity as much as we can, and hope that one day workers of the world will finally unite. But to be fair to the Chapo boys and TrueAnon, when Felix interviewed Mohammad Alsaafin they did discuss the status of Palestinian labor organizing.
do we really need another fucking hour about Palestine on this podcast....?
Sebastian Wittekindt
Yeah the situation is fucked but there is definitely a way forward, and that is to split the unity between the Palestinian and Jewish israeli workers and the zionist capitalist class that ensures the continued apartheid of the Palestinians. That's why it's so important to highlight the class conflict inside Israel, to inform the tactics of the global left going forward, and to help us keep some goddamn optimism when it comes to these things.

What is there to say? The whole discourse or debate or whatever is pointless to begin with because no one can change anything about the situation in occupied Palestine. There's your analysis: the current state of affairs must continue no matter what because there is no alternative.
yeah I agree with Sebastian. All of the chapos are very good at articulating sophisticated interpretations. Matt getting super academic and Felix breaking out of his irony to deliver criticism are some of my favorite parts of the show.
Peter T.
I guess it's only fun to talk about w/people for so long.. (hey maybe you can make a podcast and elaborate on the analysis!)
Sebastian Wittekindt
I’ve never understood why both Chapo and TrueAnon don’t lean more into the Marxist analysis that sometimes peeks out just a little bit, like when Liz is talking about the contradictions in the Israeli state. Like there’s so much more to be said about that and the class struggle in Israel and Palestine, but ya’ll always just tease it and then move on. Why??? Are we hogs too dumb? Do you not want to offend the socdems in the audience? Someone pls explain.
Bobby Volcano
The brief moments it happened made me realize Liz x Cush is a weird, delightful combo. More pls
