614b - Best of Texas Live: The Secret Uncles feat. Pendejo Time (3/28/22)
🕑 Added 2022-03-29 02:42:00 +0000 UTCLive from Houston, we’re joined by Jake and Thomas from the Pendejo Time podcast for another movie pitch. This time we’re attempting to break into the evangelical Christian film market (think God’s Not Dead and The Reliant) with a moral fable about a boy discovering the true magic of Uncles.

Note: I’m splitting this ep into two parts just to make it easier to keep all the Poppy material separated in case I want to collect them down the line, but 614a & b are one ep for all the Chapo archivists out there.

Not another Virgil episode ugh

Well they clearly talked a lot about George de Morenschildt which I think they already covered (or maybe I'm just remembering the True Anon episodes about JFK) and it's obvious they were doing so because they were actually IN Dallas. It's a natural fit. Nothing saying they're not going to back to it later.

Hilarious episode
Ben
God damn this was so good

I'm not a huge fan of their skits either. I'm not here for radio dramas, even if they're kind of funny. They have the same content for free on NPR. I want scathing political commentary, thank you.

much like the opium smoker who insists on the finest silks and most sound-deadening carpets for his smoking den, the article fiend will become irate if his articles are consumed in a manner disrespectful of the wise words contained herein

I can’t believe they blew a Poppy episode (the best material they’ve ever done) on a live show. This material deserved to be discussed when at their best in a recording studio, not in front of a bunch of loud drunks.
quiet everyone, arbiter of hip patreon podcast knowledge has spoken. kenneth hammond has almost made it through his private high school

WAHHHHH my slop is too sweet for me!
Great episode
lol stop listening then bro wtf are you doing. you're gonna die and never exist again and you're sitting here listening to people talk that you don't like

It’s revolting how unfunny some of the episodes in 2022 have been.

yet here you are paypig

Felix isn’t funny or clever. This type of content sucks.
Matt Crossin
This one rocks. Love whenever felix does Twitter gritty-meme-leftist voice.

I laughed out loud reading Dostoyevsky’s The Village of Stepanchikovo last night in bed at 1 AM
Alec
This is the best one by far

This had me laughing out loud, not a frequent occurrence with podcasts. Gave me golden days “dinar nephews” vibes, very good for a live episode

As a guy who got married and had kids younger than all my friends.... I feel right at home listening to these episodes and pretending I get the jokes.
Matt Murray
That was fucking amazing! Well done
