🕑 Added 2022-11-08 16:54:23 +0000 UTCWe’re joined by QAnon Anonymous’ Julian Feeld & Annie Kelly to discuss their new miniseries MANCLAN, covering online masculinity influencers. Julian and Annie’s series pulls together a lot of threads we’ve been discussing lately including loneliness, the rightwing grip on “manliness”, bizarre male diet trends, the new age-ification of online reactionaries and much more.

Disappointing episode. I mean, I like Menaker’s, Christman’s and Biederman’s analyses and some of their jokes. But if you’re gonna have smart, knowledgeable guests, why not ask them good questions and let them talk? What’s the point of having guests if all you do is something like when Biederman reads an article and you all comment?

Good ep and important subject matter. Years ago I was working through these types of issues. Eventually put a free ebook called Sit With It and some youtube summary vids describing the perspective shift. Mentioning since it ties into the message of this episode I think

Would be amazing if once in a blue fucking moon the ep dropped early. Sloppy sloppy sloppy

It is pretty funny how these carnivore diet guys take the “vegetables are yucky” instinct and try to justify avoiding them with a bunch of misrepresented, cherry picked factoids about “antinutrients” and “fiber actually makes you constipated.”
