Attended a Q&A with Yuzna last year. I asked why the movie Dagon is called Dagon and not Shadow Over Innsmouth since that’s the Lovecraft story being adapted. His answer: because Dagon sounds cooler. Love that man.

I love to hear the appreciation for Jeffrey Combs. His multiple DS9 characters and movie roles are always a treat to watch. The Herbert West archetype that recurs in his roles is always welcome. Also excellent that he works with Barbara Crampton in these films. Spot on on the Debra Harry Videodrome comparison. Exactly what I noticed as well. Excellent season! Dog will hunt! Just watched Castle Freak. Another great Combs and Crampton film.

My favorite tidbit is that Dr. Bloch is played by Gordon's wife, Carolyn Purdy-Gordon, and they both seemed to delight in having her portray horrible harridans and were bummed out that her full eyeball sucking was removed to avoid an X rating. Thank god for uncensored directors cuts, it's intact if you watch it now.

a while back, i saw Society in a theater where probably 2/3 of audience (including my partner) hadn’t seen it. Yuzna was sitting a couple rows ahead of us. roars of laughter, and then what i can only describe as audible disgust. gotta be gratifying for the guy after this one slipped through the cracks 30+ years ago. long live everyone involved with this movie.

Listening to Excorcist 3 episode- I saw it in the theatre when it came out, haven't heard anyone reference it in decades. Was happy to hear that the scene that stayed in my mind all those years is appreciated by others as as scary to them as it was to me! One of those scenes that enters your mind when you're in alone in a dark house and feeling that irrational fear that hits you.
