Idk how common knowledge this is but I went to a double feature screening of Hard Boiled and Face Off and John Woo was there to answer questions. He said that during the scene where Chow Yun Fat was running from the explosions in the hospital they started exploding the bombs a few seconds before he was expecting to make him run faster and his hair got singed and he was pissed off lol. Also apparently they used only real glass during the movie, no fake glass at all, and Chow Yun Fat got a shard lodged in his eye and went blind for a bit. He apparently was freaking out and hated John Woo for a while but he got his sight back eventually and “got over it” lol Edited because my memory is bad. I know they touched on Drunken Master briefly but I love how obvious the differences in the eras they came out in are between the two. And how Chan was able to make that transition from the typical king fu training arc to the bum rush of 300 guys coming at the protag.
