assuming unlimited funding, what would be your ideal evil villain lair?
My Nana always told me the key to writing was to give the reader everything they needed to see, touch, hear, and smell the surroundings. She demonstrated that to me by writing her memory of standing on a hill watching London burn after an air raid in WW2. That lesson always stayed with me, so my question is which of those elements do they (and you) find most difficult to incorporate organically into writing? Is it seamless, is it something left for later drafts? And how much research goes into certain things like for example if you wrote about sulphur smell would you seek that out to accurately portray it, or would you use a written resource and extrapolate from that?
