These songs are predictable and dated…brought me back to 2010-2016 at the latest. Like girl what year are we in? If you’re going to recycle that kind of sound at least make it sound good. It sounds like Chloe made this entire album in her closet, then filmed all the visualizers in her apartment complex. A couple of them are fun to sing along to, but they're all pretty generic and kinda boring..😫 she reminds me of beyoncé back in the day on the writings on the wall, with all of her vocal acrobatics.. come to think of it her syllabication reminds me of Beyoncé as well, they both love cramming a lot of syllables into small sections.. All in all Chloe just needs a fresh new formula.

I need these R&B artists to remember that RYTHM is part of r&b ahaha cause it just sounds like we are singing all over the place. Also idk why she has so much processing on her voice. Latin male artists do this a lot and it drives me nuts. Especially when r&b artists do it cause they usually have a stronger voice so it makes it sound more robotic and chaotic bruh. Also I feel like Anderson's voice has a soulful rasp that hasn't been in the mainstream since the 60's,70's, & a small part of the 80's. So while Chloe sings with a vocal style that is more common today you are used to it. But with Andy it gives you a eargasmic nostalgia of something you didn't grow up on but are familiar with. He got a Motown type sound and tone. Also there isn't intense reverb on Anderson's vocals. Long story short I think you like Anderson's tone more

I've been waiting for this review. I appreciate your pov. I like this album. Interestingly enough, her more upbeat songs sound "not her" to me (It's ok for artists to try new things). I was not a fan of "Boy Bye", but it's creeping up on me, lol. I've been listening to Chloe & Halle for quite some time, and their sound is very mellow, so maybe I've grown accustomed to it. She does sound rushed at times. Though dedicating a whole song to self-pleasure is a bit awkward/odd/interesting, I think Rose is more digestible than Meg's Down stairs DJ (wild shit, lol).

I personally really liked her album but the issue I ran into was that it’s overproduced. She does a lot with her vocals (riffs, runs, scales) but it clashes with the actual beat/music. It has a tendency to be a lot going on. Less is more, which is why I prefer Chloe & Halle the duo. It all was very even with them.

My perception of Chloe’s music is that she puts up an overdone performance in her songs that it comes off as a polarizing complex blurb. This makes the listener disinterested. The amount of times she uses vocal stacking, vocal echoes, special tuning, and riffs takes away from the main storyline of the song. And don’t give me wrong, I love a good riff, and good vocal stack. But her best songs aren’t the most complex ones.

i think the problem you hear in the Track "Favourite" is that Anderson cadence is a bit more laid back and stabil. He take after every word a mili sec of breath to match the drum rythm. And chloes frist verse was very fast spoken but still on beat.

Idk if this makes sense, but in my opinion i would say Chole’s singing is kind of slurred, back when I use to be in orchestra I learned that slurred notes are notes played without separation. The opposite of that would be staccato, which means notes played separately or detached. I think when she sings her words are connected and there’s not much separation in between her words, and then she doesn’t really articulate her words so it kind of gets confusing, and then you add the runs on top of that. When you listen to Anderson sing the same melody you can kind of hear the separation in his words and he’s slurring the notes, but when Chole starts singing her words are more connected and then the notes are slurred together. But then it could also be the difference in the way they articulate their words. Idek if this makes sense but thats how i would describe it, i wish i could give some kind of example 😭
