Dunk Boots!
🕑 Added 2024-01-03 02:42:16 +0000 UTCI just wrapped up my latest project: tall self extending stilts with the goal of dunking as high as possible / becoming inspector gadget. If you're interested in seeing the video you can check it out here!

As usual this project morphed from something I thought wouldn't be too bad into something quite challenging. This of course means lots of information that didn't make it into the final video. I'll be scheduling a directors commentary livestream in the next week or so to watch through the video and share more technical details and behinds the scenes info. I'll post the details as soon as I lock in a date & time. This will be patron only and is something I like to do as a way of saying thank you so much for the support!

jlaservideo did something like that on his channel but didn't get nearly as high as the stilts. also I think the effects of g-forces definitely come into play more here

could be interesting to see how high you could hop with bouncy shoes in place of the more static expanding shoes. Could make it scary and interesting by building some sort of dynamic/actively controlled bounce/suspension system. Think likely you could get pretty bouncy with just a smart mechanical design(thinking some sort of carbon fiber spar to bounce on). But an electromechanical solution might be a somewhat similar control problem that of a robot dog leg and you could have all kinds of headaches trying to tune the controller... just thinking about it sounds painful
