Illustration #113 + rewards, doodles and brushes

The compositions for these illustrations with multiple characters always turn into a bit of a puzzle. Hopefully it turned out well!
It looks like Luke's friends have got some neat tricks to encourage him to keep going more than just a few rounds. I wonder if they've got other interesting spells too. π

I've also been doing a whole bunch of small sketches for a concept that's been moving through my brain this month. It's a team of xenobiologists and the flora and fauna they're studying. I'd love to expand a bit on the idea going forward with more concept doodles. There are a lot of interesting designs to play around with in that type of scenario, for characters, creatures and environments. I'm trying to capture sort of a colorful and goofy sci-fi style with these to get a sense of the direction I'm heading, and then hopefully I'll come up with increasingly interesting designs. And with any luck you'll also get to see if those scientists will have, ahem... good chemistry. π
That style and setting is one I would have been tempted to use if I ever got around to creating a game. I don't know if I'll ever get to the point where that's manageable for me, but I like to fantasize about it lol. A bright, colorful and goofy sci fi creative sandbox game with fun randomized loot. Games like that make me happy. I could ramble for hours about what kind of game I'd want that to be, so I won't start lol.
It's a lot of fun to doodles these little pictures, where each one is very manageable to complete. More complex and detailed pieces will quickly feel overwhelming and stop being as much fun half way through. So these sketches can feel a bit like therapy. Completing a drawing, even if it's small and simple, feels nice and encouraging. If you feel overwhelmed too by your own paintings I hope you'll make time for those small bite-sized pieces!
Oh and I've also included the brushes I've been using this past month for those of you who are into that (they only work in Paintstorm Studio as far as I'm aware, sorry). Just keep in mind they're not "the carefully tuned brushes Calm uses", but rather ones that have felt comfortable to me recently. I change my brushes all the time. π I will always encourage experimenting with brush settings to find the ones that work well for you.

Love all of this! The swarm of succubi is great - love that idea of being forced to keep going. But it not even a force it's just the pressure to keep pleasing! And PLEASE make more of XenoBio. Those sketches are great and fun. Plus who doesn't like how green skin women and men. As for your little guy that's just a head - icing on the cake. Hilarious!

I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying all of the sketches and "doodling", it is great to get those wins from finishing those smaller scale drawings and paintings πΈ Your Xenobio idea looks like a tonne of fun, it's really cool seeing these different concepts for characters, all done in your gorgeous vibrant and fun style π I particularly like the green lady at the bottom left with the syringe gun. The strange brain, tentacle creature has colours that I really like too, as does the creature that the big, green guy has slung over his shoulder. The other "doodles" are excellent too, it feels wrong to refer to them as doodles, especially when the lady in "doodle3" has such refined and beautiful rendering π» I especially like the lady in Doodle2, the angle and pose are gorgeous, I love the colours and the painterly textures on the skin too π₯°π₯°π₯° _____________________________________________ As for the main painting, oh boy... there's a LOT going on here πΈ The overall colour palette of the scene is stunning. I really like how the centre of the image is just so warm, with the skin tones of all of the characters, as well as the orange pillows and sheets looking so vibrant. While the colder stones, greens of the bed, desaturated green plants in the background and the blue sky add some lovely, contrasting coolness. The sheer level of detail here is as astounding as always, with everything being so packed with texture. I love the patterned columns, the texturd curtains with cool shadows transitioning into the warm oranges, the jug and cup in the background have a great metallic sheen. The plants are all so well done, the clouds are lovely and I like the detail of the cup in the foreground that's spilled its contents. The characters are all terrific and I'm just going to have to do my best to summarise because there is just so much here π» I'll start with Luke, his pose is great, I like how he's reclining, with his body opened up as he's attented to by all of his lovely friends. The colours are great with the brightest tones bathing his abs and thighs, drawing the eye to his central areas. As always, the textures, muscle definition and rendering are all excellent, with his chest, shoulders, arms and hand being my favourite parts. Blimey... I want to go in-depth on all of the ladies, but that would be insane, even for me π Okay, some specific things that I enjoy. The girl on the bottom left, I love how the goop wraps over her breasts and face, wwithher mouth closed, lips pressed together as if she's catching some of it in there. I like her eyes rolling up and the slightest hint of a smile, like she's just dreamily enjoying herself π₯° I love the girl behind Luke, it's so sensual and sexy how her breasts push up against his head, with a lovely squish and a great sense of realistic weight to them. Her pose in general is perfect, her legs wrapping around him as she caresses his body, he's so lucky and she is just stunning π»π»π»π»π» I adore the lady standing just in front of the curtain. She has such a naughty, sexy smile, like she's thinking really dirty thoughts π Her hair looks so good with those blue edge-lights, I adore her shapely, natural breasts and large areolas and the rendering on her stomach is just marvellous. All of the women are perfectly, stunningly painted! Each one has so much love and care put into rendering every beautiful inch of them. I love their poses, their expressions, their textures, the definition and detail of their hair. Goodness, it kills me to not be specific! I so badly want to talk about the one on her knees and the stunning lighting on her π Hopefully the clear enthusiasm I'm displaying manages to get across just how exquisite this painting is! π»π»π»π»π» Excellent work here, this one might just be a damned masterpiece! πππππππππππππππππππππ
