(WIP) [ANIMATION] MIS "BASE Animation"
🕑 Added 2024-05-08 00:48:34 +0000 UTCHeyo, I'm still here. Still working on this. I keep fucking forgetting to make WIP posts. Don't I have these as one of my tier rewards? I've literally been false advertising for months now.
Anyways, I've been getting sick of the 4 frame animations, which have been... all of them since January...? I think? The DuoLingo one had an intro thing which wasn't, but I don't feel like that counts. This one is 6 frames, which is what I used to primarily do. It's more work of course, but it gives you a little extra room to work with. More space to breathe, so on and so forth.
Like I said earlier, I really want to get better at the movement. I tried making her body jostle around a little more than usual, and gave the bahoobers more of a circular motion. I also tried making the head rotate in a weird way, kinda like it was... catching somewhere...? It's hard to explain. I guess I wanted her to look heavy, give her some weight. I dunno if I achieved that. The hair was a fucking nightmare and I'm just happy it looks decent.
Maybe I should try making the camera move. Maybe that would add something.
Anyways! This one's been hard, but I'm glad I'm really trying. I'm happy about being able to whip animations out, but I feel kinda cheap taking so many shortcuts. This has been a challenge, and I've been wanting a challenge.
Next up is all the variant shit. Then after that is the background, coloring, and shading. Then some dope ass VHS effects, probably.

Honestly though, I'm not sure how I'd do it. I'm not like, cinematically minded, so I'd be totally lost. Plus I'd have to hire a bunch of people, like voice actors / actresses, sound goons, editors, all that. Seems expensive, I dunno what I'd make, so on and so on. I just don't have much incentive to do it. Maybe if some other animators snatched me and I worked with them on something. I dunno. I'm in a Discord now with a bunch of other animators, so that's cool. Maybe something like that could happen.

I see what you mean about the head feeling weighty, it looks good. Like it has inertia. The more I look at it, the more I like it. The josteling makes the whole scene feel a little more dynamic. Really excellent.

In theory I could, I'd have to figure it out. Someone was telling me that they're basically just loops stitched together. I'd have to watch some videos of like, Zone or Derpixon to understand better how to do it,
