360 POV Test
🕑 Added 2017-12-02 23:39:04 +0000 UTC So here's a super rough test of a 360 POV shot where the character's body is visible. Try this out and let me know what you think, especially if you have a headset.Pros:
- More immersive? Viewer and character will have a physical presence in the environment
- Can show the character interacting with the environment and other characters (no floating props like the box at the beginning of A Gift for Two)
Cons:
- Disorienting? Camera will tilt along with character's body, which could be nauseating for a viewer sitting or standing normally. The viewer turning their head in a direction that would be unnatural for the character could also be disorienting.
- Character's shadows and reflections will be headless. Need for more postwork.
Opinions? I tried it on my own headset and felt the Cons more than the Pros tbh. It might not be worth doing for a story.

Thanks for the feedback! I did some more tests with crooked cameras (as if the camera was attached to the tiny character's neck) and it was definitely disorienting. So I'm just gonna stick with invisible characters for now.

I feel like 360 renders should be made for when the tiny person is on the floor or a flat surface. Like this you avoid being disoriented. It’s definitely far more immersive - I just bought a Vive and damn does it makes you feel tiny. I hope you keep on doing those, it’s amazing being able to be inside your renders :)

I absolutely loved the story you put out in 360 personally! I just wished there was an easier to view this on a phone
