Lay of the Land 0.4.7 Hotfix
🕑 Added 2024-05-21 06:41:12 +0000 UTCUpdate fixing my oopsie in 0.4.6. This bug would not have corrupted your world or anything. Or set you computer on fire ๐. Just a really bad bug that somehow slipped through the cracks even with the increased amount of QA I have been doing recently.
I will try my best to ensure that this never happens again.
Your 0.4.x worlds will work fine. Please update when ready.

How to Install
Download the 4 files attached on this post
Place the 4 downloaded files into the folder where you want to install the game.
Double click LayOfTheLand_0.4.7_Installer.bat (if a Windows Defender Smart Screen window pops up, just click "More info" and then "Run anyway". If you're worried, you can see the code of the bat file by right clicking it and clicking edit to open it in notepad. The bat file is just extracting the zip files for you)
Wait for the installer to finish
Open the LayOfTheLand_0.4.7 folder
Double click LayOfTheLand.exe

Hey there! Great project you got going on here! I'm interested where you're going to take this game. Only suggestions I'd have is to add the ability to make custom prefabs and the ability to move physics objects with hands, since my chests would often get moved somehow and block a corridor, forcing me to loot the entire chest and re-place it. Also, physics objects would sometimes phase into walls and come flying back, killing me. Same would happen if I was standing on a tree as I chopped it into pieces. ๐

I played this version. After a while, my entire computer randomly froze and I had to do a forced shutdown. There was a Windows update but now it's fine. It would be best if you looked into this. EDIT: this happened while I was recording a video (intended to publish on YouTube), my computer was working at its upper power limits. I was about to enter a dungeon (that one with a hanging plank on the side) when a bomber skeleton emerged from the inside. It was there the game froze, and I realized my computer did too. I had to do a forced shutdown. When I turned on the computer, it had to update which took several minutes, and when I entered my password, the screen was black for a few seconds before a Windows configuration screen popped up asking me about Office 365 for example. But after that, everything was working fine.
