Lay of the Land 0.8.0 Temples & Castles Update Part II

You will need to create a new world.
Custom Prefabs
Players can now create their own building prefabs using a Blueprint. You can copy/paste anything to speed up your builds. Also, each prefab is saved to their own file in the Custom Prefabs folder located in your world save. You can easily share/use other players prefabs by copying/placing prefab files in that folder.
Building Improvements and New Materials
Faster Roof Building. You can now place Slope prefabs in bulk similar to the Box Shape.
There are also new building materials such as more fabric colors, stained glass and smooth stone variants.
You can now plant trees. Saplings will drop when the leaves are stripped from a tree you have cut down.
Water/Lava Propagation and Buoyancy
Water and Lava is now no longer static and will new flow into empty areas. You can now gather and place water with a bucket.
Objects will now float in water/lava depending on what they are made of. E.g objects made of stone will sink while ones made of wood will float.
Structure and World Improvements
There is a new Giant Fossil structure in the outback canyons and some of the other structures in the Outback Canyons have been improved/adjusted.
New ambient effects have been added such as falling leaves and fireflies. These ambient effects will also react to the weather. E.g more leaves will fall and blow faster during storms.

Hot bar key hints now update with key bindings
Crafting ingredient tooltips now update properly when their item changes
Fixed crash when placing campfire spawned via commands
Fixed lanterns and candles having collision when equipped
Fixed ai attempting to attack a hostile if the hostile damaged the ai when the hostile is dead
Fixed gaps between LOD levels
Fixed steel shield missing from loot tables
How to Install
Download the files attached on this post
Place the downloaded files into the folder where you want to install the game.
Double click LayOfTheLand_0.8.0_Installer.bat (if a Windows Defender Smart Screen window pops up, just click "More info" and then "Run anyway". If you're worried, you can see the code of the bat file by right clicking it and clicking edit to open it in notepad. The bat file is just extracting the zip files for you)
Wait for the installer to finish
Open the LayOfTheLand_0.8.0 folder
Double click LayOfTheLand.exe

Its more for the general selection box when building. Say I am building something in a 3D space. X Y and Z coordinates. I can currently only select X and Y. If I wanna go for Z I have to build blocks up physically before this is possible for me to target for further building. Unless I missed something in the mechanic :o

I dont think an angel block is something that I would add as voxels cant be floating.

Is it possible that a future update may contain a sort of angel block type placement when moving around for building? Currently I wanna build but it feels very odd to build tall structures. Say I want to build a house, I need to make extra supports just to be able to place a slightly taller than me pillar on first time placing :o Some games have this feature called "Angel Block". Which basically refers to a fake block being targeted to be able to place the real block at a certain range for the player character.

Sadly it doesn't work on steamdeck Game loads, renders a few frames and crashes with black screen after saving is done. But I know this is a bit too much to expect it to work in pre alpha build 😝 But looks amazing overall, Im already getting addicted

I didn’t pick it up I had a chest and a bed down as I went to look for an anvil and when I died they were gone. I will try redownloading the files see if it was a weird glitch. Love the game however, can’t wait to see where you go next with it 😁

Items should never despawn. If you picked up your bed you will still respawn where it was however

Hey! it does work on linux via proton. just combine all the files without using the .bat script and add it as a non-steam game using proton!
