Development Update #40 - January 22, 2018

Also, I'm kind of going freestyle here, just typing what comes to mind so sorry if I'm rambling too much in this one.
Anyways, what should we talk about today...
So I was thinking about episode progression and timelines last week. There's quite a bit of planning needed for transitioning from finishing one game and rolling out the next one.
I can only guess that this is why a lot of other developers keep going with their projects for eternity. Don't get me wrong, I know it's a hard and scary thing to do. I experience it firsthand now.
A lot of things contribute to this. Finishing the game you've been working on for a while, what you've got to be known for seems scary. What if people won't like the new game? What if they leave and never come back?
Also, there is bound to be some amount of downtime between the two games in most cases. I'm trying to come up with ways to minimize that.
That brings the developer to working on two projects at once, both being at critical stages of development, start and finish.
However, this is also a time to be excited. A new day, new opportunities, right? It's time to fix past mistakes, improve and polish the existing skillset and even learn completely new ones.
Well, sorry for talking all this nonsense here, I just felt like I need to write it down.
On a serious note, EP10 is coming to the finish line, it's proving to be a more difficult one than I thought. Now that I can almost see the full picture, I can say I managed to make a nice balance of plot progression and lewd action. This is the episode that sets everything in motion for Episode 11's shocking setup for the finale.
Speaking of future episodes. It's been a difficult decision to make, but this is for the best. I wanted to maintin the monthly releases of the last two, but I want them to be longer, and include everything I planned.
That means it will take longer to make them (while getting some amount of work done on the next project too). It's going to take about 6 weeks each.
Of course the amount of content will grow accordingly.
I think this is needed for a fitting closure and the multiple endings.
So for February, I figured out an event here on Patreon, to have something fun to do for you guys while you wait, more on that after the EP10 release!

So much of what I love with this project is the story. If the story continue to be great, then everything will be fine. The other part I love is the dirty sexy artwork! Makes me all tingly in the nethers

It's gonna be tough to say goodbye to these characters for me as well, but I feel like I'm just in time to move on to a different game before I - or you guys - get bored of DoD

Sin if this whole post was considered "non sense/random thoughts" then we need more of it. Best 'Monday' post in awhile and refreshingly candid. Btw, I'm currently typing this response out with my feet because my hands are too busy double fist pumping the air in knowing you're gonna take extra time for the final two EP! I'm sure you didn't come to this decision easily but take all the time you need Doc xD And don't fret too much over the transitional period between games. I can say this; I often compare you to Batman - you lurk in the shadows :P you wear a cape and cowl, you perform all these amazing feats that maybe nobody else can dream of doing, yet at the end of the day you take off the cape and have no real super powers. Meaning you're human, down time is largely unavoidable, which brings me to my last point and I have to correct you....... Forgive me Sin but you stated your fears on people leaving you upon DoD's completion and that's what you've become known for... not exactly. You are where you are now because of the efforts you've put into DoD along with your dedication to us patrons. Rest assured if you do the same for all future endeavors then nobody is going anywhere.

I'm glad that you'll spend more time on the final two episodes. They seem like they'll be the most important. On one hand I'll be sad once the game finishes, we'll have to say goodbye to these characters we've spent so long getting to know and have fun with. Alice, Tracy, Mrs. Turner and all others have a special place in my heart. The other hand will be holding my prick. I am seriously excited to see the new game you have in store for us!
You have delivered amazing work time and time again. I for one am not worried about the future, and in not gonna just disown you for nothing. You will have to fuck up pretty bad to not get my patronage.
