I am surprised Irene simply didn't bring Mina on as her secretary or assistant. It would provide 'ample opportunities'. Though that would make the real reason for helping her easy to whoever 'he' is. Irene is settling for a 'hands on' HR approach to Mina. Perhaps calling her over for multiple employee 'inspections'.
