Actually, I have a theory that's probably completely wrong, but I like to post those for those little "I called it!" moments in rare cases I am actually right. Hey! I was right, like... Two times! XD There are themes of sexism popping up here and there in the story. "Making a career should not be a priority for a woman", "A woman should find a man and be a mother" - things like that. Not to mention men who can't leave women alone if their lives depended on it - "she only plays hard to get" and other bull. So I was wondering - maybe Verian got upstaged by her brother solely because he is a man? And because of that she felt the need to prove herself, to show her work is impeccable beyond compare, which turned her into an obssesive perfectionist we know. Someone who cannot let a single thing, even an innocent accident, ruin her career? Now, there are some flaws to this theory. First of all, why Verian didn't take steps to fire whoever tripped Mina, knowing fully well somebody tripped her (that's actually a good question regardless)? Such plot-point could also pull away the story from Özdemir sisters, not to mention Irene's sexual harrassment (or just unproffesional conduct, that remains to be seen), if it would focus on their brother as a problem (which arguably it already kinda does?). But there is also a possibility that Irene herself decided to screw around with her subordinates only because she felt helpless? Felt that, as a woman, nobody will let her be a CEO, regardless of how good her work is, so why not give up and live a little? Maybe as part of giving up she supported her brother as a CEO, turning her back on Verian and starting their feud? And maybe in the end the sisters will reconcile, and approach the problem in a more healthier way, that does not consist of fooling around, and firing people left and right? Well, don't mind me, I'm just rambling. I'm exited to see where the story goes, what the author's actual vision really is. Stay healthy!
