I'm glad you found it helpful - I think painting more realistic faces can also come around to help making more stylized ones as well.

It changes over time I think, most of the time I enjoy artists who have a very bold and unique vision in their work, and are strong in technicals. For a while now, Zeen Chin is my favorite artist - he always comes up with art that is very strong in both concept and execution!
