🕑 Added 2023-06-12 07:08:14 +0000 UTCI wanted to tackle a more complex pose this time, and hoo boy did I bite off more than I could chew!
I've been in a bit of a slump honestly, having been rejecting a lot of pieces that were WIP, and ending up with precious few that can even make it to the end. This one was also close to being abandoned - and I think there are still plenty of mistakes, but I felt it was worth trying to finish with what I had!
I liked the overall setting very much - playing an instrument in an abandoned theater with some spookiness added. I tried my best capturing it via the lighting and angle, making sure to focus in on the action of her hands.
I can't wait to discuss this one in the process video this month - honestly it was a really big challenge.
The pose, the perspective, and lighting were all completely terrifying to approach :)
Thank you so much again for supporting me here - I will never have otherwise had the opportunity to dedicate my effort to continuously learning and improving my art.

Thank you for the kind words! Sometimes it's easy to forget that we can (and will) make pieces that don't live up to our own expectations. and that can also happen several times in a row. It does really help facilitate reflection as you said - to think more thoroughly about why and how things didn't work, and fix issues from there on.

Just goes to show that no matter what level you are as an artist, everyone goes through the struggle of being in an art slump. It takes a lot of introspection and maturity to say "This may not be the perfect piece I want it to be, and that's ok." The piece looks fantastic, and after going through this slump and reflecting on it, you will come out wiser. As long as we learn from what we are doing, there is never a loss, only something to be gained!
