It’s completely understandable Artie, what can result is not just having followers, but the it’s how people who enjoy your work and love it see your successes to bring much joy into people’s lives. In a time that information comes every 5 nanoseconds, it will be a great blessing for people to have the time to comment, rather then just Leaving hears and likes. To give feedback and even loving your work is a wonderful idea to grow. And the idea of recording positive comments to keep you going is a good idea to keep the mind flowing .

Yeah, Its not about the number, but who is behind the number! If you know that each person following you really enjoys your work, its worth tenfold! Glad you relate Macxi!<3

I gotta say, I REALLY don’t envy the 10k+ accounts on Twitter, haha! I feel like a large following is a double-edged sword, because more potential eyes on your work is good! But it’s also a bit anxiety inducing haha, at least for those of us who shy from the limelight! I have very similar feelings in my approach to this too, because a quality comment means a million times more to me than any other metric. As artists, we like to know what other people think and feel about what we do. In the last year, I got a lot of really heartfelt comments from readers who said they resonated with my comic characters or story - those are the things I remember, and what keeps me going on a hard day! : ) While it does feel good to get more subscribers, it’s the interaction that’s especially meaningful.

Aaahh I'm glad to read this, Day! Thanks! And yeah I do feel responding to comments is a must to make it feel worth the effort on people's part.

This was a great post honestly can apply it to anything regarding social media not just art. The constant mindset of I need to get XXXX followers and likes has kinda grown toxic and a bit a shallow of a way to get validation as you said. The double edge sword however is that people who aggressively farm for followers become confused why there's no interaction with their post which is ironic to me lol. Overall I agree comments are super heartfelt thing to look forward too. It's also cool how you try to respond to most of them. I think that is a great way for sending validation back to the fans of your art might make them want to comment more who knows lol
