50 Shaeds of Fae

Hah, SCP reference

Malphir

Bit of a problem with that plan... Alith is undead, which the blood is harmful to. Said harmful effects could be deeper than usual since it acts with the blueprint. Her alchemy is based on consumption to determine content. There is no guarantee she would be able to do anything with it. We also don't know just how bad prohibitively expensive it is for mana cost. Also... All her summons are undead. Can it be a good option, yes. But it certainly isn't hands down the best option.

Inv7ctus

Yo I didnt even think about cureing the soul parasites. That could be HUGE.

Cyclone001

It was my choice too if you look below. Who knows when Saria, Cynthia, Asty, Mornn, one of the dragons, or even some normies will need it. Theoretically, it sounds like it could even reverse the sinner transformation of Scripture's soul parasites. Besides, the saintomancer could use a few more sainty abilities to go with all the necromancy things.

Inv7ctus

I feel like y'all are sleeping on Holy. That's a major force multiplier for all of her allies. Sure its obviously not directly useful to her own build, but she's a summoner, with lots of friends. Think of the societal and logistical implications of being able to empower so many people, elevate the potential of so many people. I'll understand if she chooses not to pick because that isn't what she wants to do or be, but we need to acknowledge that it is likely the most individually powerful behind leviathan's blood (Which is stupidly hyper lethal), and maybe the unclear or esoteric ones since we can be sure how strong their effects are. The ability to extend lifespans is the kind of thing factions are built around. Then consider she has an alchemist friend who would love to get a look at its principles? Then consider being able to heal ANYTHING. How many old monsters are out there with unhealed scars? This is also the kind of thing that makes you a lot of friends. Even if she doesn't use it for any of that. Having access to a powerful near universal heal, is the kind of thing you want to have, and regret forgoing when a friend is dying in front of you.

Kennyevilmonkey

Graveyard of Nymphs. Thank goodness it isn't Nymphos, or that would be a drastically different spell...

Jeanean

In theory, yes. In praxis, just the smell of its tears has some very concerning effects.

Jonathan Wint

Leviathan BLOOD Leviathan BLOOD Leviathan BLOOD ! That would be a Finishing Move! She still got to kill a God! And she needs a weapon to do it and I bet that Can!

Malphir

Except that one drop would likely be lethal. Just breathing near the exposed tear was enough to condem her to a fate worse than death. She'll have to figure out a way to work with it without backlash or it's just a last ditch trump card if she's out of options.

Silver Dawn

Would singularity Edict work with the Leviathan’s Blood? Like spill one drop on herself and hose her enemies in the rest

E

Tejing, I am referring to the False Lord skills and speculation on how one of the skill quests involves the Leviathan (or at least what it's possibly guarding).

Lazy Monster

All these blood options kinda make me wish she had picked blood forging technique. Imagine if she could have made a weapon for Pareth to hit people with from Leviathan’s blood.

Malphir

For me the choice is between Leviathan, Odalite and Yin. Leviathan is the riskiest, but holds a lot of potential if she can figure out a method of working with it. What exactly its use would be beyond being a last ditch trump card is unknown currently. Odalite has the potential to be very useful depending on what Grandma Erredis has to say about it, or not, we'll see. Yin is the safest good choice, if Mr. Scribe is right about it. It's useful in crafting, a potent combat tool she's immune to and has monetary potential as a resource. Honorable mentions for me are Archon, Holy and Sofia. Archon could be potent, but is a lesser option compared to Leviathan if she can learn to safely use it. Holy is potent, but a lot of people in Sofia's close circle would find it harmful. It's a good option if she doesn't care about personal gain with the choice and we have no idea just how bad it is in terms of being prohibitively expensive. And lastly, Sofia. It's an interesting option, but if it's pre-Lumian it's useless. If it's post-Lumian she would first need to learn to interact with it properly. At that point she should just take this as something to consider possibilities about and nothing more.

Moon Winchester

There’s an old movie and I can’t remember it, but it’s literally about an alien invasion of a species called WORMS. Full on horror movie fucks with your brain makes you deeply afraid of every waking moment type of situation.

Kennyevilmonkey

Pretty sure it is just a Dune reference.

Chance Rose

Yin, odalit, kinetic are the best for sure. WORM and leviathan are both fuck it buttons I think. Drop either one in an area and you either mutate the populace into a flesh abomination, or summon a big ass worm there to decimate the area once it arrives.

Moon Winchester

WORM is from a movie and book right? I feel like I remember reading or watching something about it. I can’t remember if it was giant planet devouring worms, or like a high dimensional conceptual being that was horrifying kind of like an Eldritch abomination.

Songy

Yeah, please don't take the option with the non-zero chance for multidimensional parasitic space-whales being attracted to your location (°ー°〃)

Ceasar Salas

Thanks for the chapter! I’m in agreement about asking Erredis, maybe Richard or headmaster; about Odalite, Sofia, or WORMs. Also, i wonder if WORM is an acronym like Wild Otherworldly Ravenous Monstrosity; like the phegid! On another note, kudos on coming up with 26 unique options

Lazy Monster

For some reason I feel like tantalizing blood is a Lobotomy corporation/SCP foundation reference

Cyclone001

I'd probably lean towards holy blood though. Good to have a powerful heal for the living, although leviation, odalite, quantity and quality all sound tempting.

Tejing

I don't think there's ever been mention of the Leviathan being related to the Deep. And I think Leviathan blood would probably just be too dangerous to ever use. Minor, indirect exposure to the tears screwed with her runes, though it didn't completely nullify them... just no. Don't play with fire.

Tejing

Kinetic, Electric, Yin, and Odalite are the stand-outs to me. Some people like Leviathan, but that just seems like it'd be too dangerous to actually ever use. She should definitely ask Erredis about Odalite blood before deciding on anything. It might well be the best option here. Kinetic is probably the most certain to be useful in combat. Electric might be better, or kinda suck. Combat doesn't really seem like it should be the primary decider here, though. Maybe she should also bring up the Quality blood option with the vampires? Someone might offer her something really good as incentive to take it. If Odalite doesn't seem good after talking to Erredis, though, I think I'd go with Yin. She's immune to cold damage, so it's got some clear synergy there. It's got uses in crafting and such, and could also definitely be useful in combat. For Graveyard, it pretty much has to be the Nymphs option. Crusade is interesting, but she really doesn't need more damage or more generic fighting minions, Bookie has that covered, and it's unclear if they'd even retain as much ability as they have now to phase her through stuff. Phasing is really what she uses Graveyard for. Buff that. Plus there's Erredis' advice about getting a land-healing skill. Corrections: especially since I can count of Grandma to make things for me of -> on X and Y are backwards in the otherwise alphabetical list.

Cyclone001

You sure mere glass can contain it?

KazukiNero

I thinking or Odalite is best choice, as for Odalite might need to ask some of the oldies about it.

ArtTheGreat

Also you have Yin and Xolotl swapped from the proper order of the alphabet.

Matt Grayson

So Write Once Read Many? Takes me back… At least it’s not Copy On Write 😆

brennon Petersen

Tftc!

Mornn

Oh! I'm reading the comments too fast x_x

Lazy Monster

TFTC. I feel like the best ones are the Yin, Odalite, Leviathan, and Holy options. Yin because we’ve seen that it can be used offensively or for crafting things. Odalite for the crafting reasons as well. Holy just isn’t directly useful to Sophia but is still good. My favorite is the levitation blood since if it comes down to offense it’s probably the best upgrade on the list.

ArtTheGreat

So many great options! My favorites are Leviathan, Yin, Holy, and Sophia blood.

Kennyevilmonkey

of -> on

Phsteven

With Sofia being made out of light and mana now, with the ability to subsist off of her own mana, I don't think that the pressure of the deep oceans will affect her basically at all. Jörmungandr blood does not seem like a worthwhile choice anymore :( big sad for the world snake.

E

Leviathan blood for sure. Hasn't there been previous discussion about Leviathan being connected to the Deep? Also, Sofia could fill up some glass vials for some casual biological warfare later on. Why can't she ask Mr. Scribe to clarify the Sofia Blood one? Bloodlight seems to be the most valuable.

Mornn

Erm...

Mornn

Erredis

Mornn

Does not help with the mana situation, no :p

Kennyevilmonkey

Mornn, would you still love your readers if we were WORMS?

Libery

Especially since I can count of grandma to make things. I can count on grandma?

Mornn

Just the blood? About three hours...

Mornn

X.x

Phsteven

Would the Jörmungandr blood help with the mana pressure in the ruins of the last epoch? If not then I think it might be worth asking Erredis about Odalites and seeing if their blood is worth it. Otherwise I would probably just go with Yin.

Libery

Ok, so how long did you take to come up with all that bloody business?

Michael Gordon

leviathan blood. I want leviathan blood. she could feed some to her dyrad too lmao

Cyclone001

So many choices. Probably a good idea to consult with Asty and her butler on this one.

Wolfknap

Thanks for the chapter. If it’s all supposed to be in alphabetical order x and y are backwards

Matt Grayson

Hahahahahah! Love the alphabet! It was take your kid to work day at the High Scribes and someone's 10-year old inserted the Fart option. So is she going for Leviathan? I mean, what's the worst that could happen?

Mornn

By the way, busy schedule tomorrow, so the chapter could be late

Quentin Cozzi

Thanks for the chapter!

Custus

Thanks for the chapter!

Wensber
