With all of her abilities, it only took her a few minutes to locate another hidden shop. This one was hidden in an very wide empty space between the first and second floor, it was a shooting range game, with teleporting targets appearing on the other side of the room, and many rules stacking up in each level. Quick fire Angel bolts proved enough to clear most of the game, but the last level was too much for Sofia, nevertheless, this let her get her hands on another fusion ticket.

Sofia felt a jolt, a stream of energy forcefully rearranging her mana circuits, and in just a few seconds, it was done, and it had even freed up a passive skill slot.
Sofia opened up the skill description, but she was almost scared to look. If the fusion was botched then not only did she just lose two of her most used skills, she would also have lost her specialization target.

My own bones were pretty much always a target for the construct already… But now that means the exoskeleton gets the bonus as well! And it freed up a blessing slot. Now Pareth and Bookie can also get a proper bone armor… AND WINGS!
Sofia almost wanted to try that out right away, but Pareth and Bookie were both currently away, actually working on getting started with choosing Pareth’s own specialization.
They’re going to love that.
… Well… Assuming the specialization doesn’t get rid of it…
And I guess the bone storage was expended by another ten times as well… It was already damn impossible to fill but I won’t complain about that.
Honestly… This is really good… It’s almost making me reconsider my choice.
I can always buy the [False immortality] upgrade to a passive and specialize into that. Still… Hmmm… Even with the added blessing I think the exoskeleton might still be a bit too weak. It rarely ever fully absorbs a hit at all these days. I guess I’ll do it.
Since Sofia already had all the peace and quiet she needed, alone in the hidden shop room, she summoned a bone chair and sat down by herself.

This same screen again… Uh? It actually changed just from the skill fusion.
Fae Ancestry went up from 96 to 99 while draconic went down from 81. Kleptran didn’t move… I might actually have chosen Kleptran if the associated stat wasn’t useless and I had better compatibility. I imagine it’s meant to be more for physical fighters?
It’s really interesting that this is what we get to chose from… Do humans get higher Fae ancestry compatibility because they’re apparently our actual ancestors?
Either way, I pretty much have to pick Fae now, don’t I? To begin with Bone dominus is already about affecting an area around me, so it’s almost already like an aura effect, I think?
Draconic is also a viable choice though, and Processing is a great stat… But the score went down when I fused the skill so that’s not a super good sign for the compatibility with the skill itself.
I almost want to postpone the specialization to try to get a 100% compatibility but I don’t really have that much time in front of me right now, the faster I get the skill the more time I will have to familiarize myself with it before the next event… Let’s just go.

I can see the system attempting to drag all that mana from her only to have her still regen personally and basically overload the system with so much mana that it has to create a new system just to act as a battery for the unlimited mana it gains access to. I can see the system accidentally creating a second plane of mana from her alone and starting to panic only for uncle, dad, and auntie Deep to anchor it partially in the deep as a way to protect both the system and sof.

Wait, the last level was too much for her? Sofia gave up on unlocking everything? Blasphemy!!! :-P It *is* the one I was expecting. It just fits too well to pass up, right? The "and connected bones" part disappeared from the description. Did she really lose that part? If so, she lost a significant part of the offensive capacity. The new bits are great. Her own bones counting without affecting the limit is lovely, and being able to invoke the exoskeleton on every construct is a wonderful fusion perk. It looks like you forgot to mark the fusion result as locked, though. Since it's fused from exalted exoskeleton, you'd expect it to be locked as well. Not that it matters since it'll be specialized into immediately. Processing is a great stat, but having the specialization affect her signature skill just doesn't make sense. There's no compatibility there at all. Definitely Fae, yeah. Quite a few of these paths were pretty decent. The Satellite Lich really caught my eye, especially since it's technically unlife, not undeath. The Everlasting Bishop and Angel of Bones were both quite interesting, too. The poor high scribe really shouldn't have taunted her with "Sucker of Bones", though. Well, that one sounds interesting. Joke requirements aside, manipulating all bones, inert or not, is *really* powerful. It'll probably keep the existing abilities, and it sounds like there will be more to the skill as well. Looking forward to the next chapter! (470 days isn't *that* bad. She was going to need to spend quite a bit of time at 349 anyway, given the Annihilator's quest and her intent to check out the forbidden layer before she gets too strong for it.) I know it wasn't really a true option, but Dread Splinterer was tempting for the Summon Bone skill alone. More matter summoning abilities just to mess with the mages that can't truly summon matter other than water. Honestly hope she somehow can get it still.

Only took 47 attempts to make the scribes cry uncle? Pff, they're getting weak - she did over 100 rerolls last time. Still, being locked out of trials and identify for a year and a half plus is rough. The concerning thing though is previous specializations had a stat growth section. This, as amusing as it is, has nothing concrete to choose by, and seemingly no mana growth. We need to get Sofia more mana so she can summon pain faster.

Yes the debt is like this only because she no longer uses system levels, and you cannot make it go faster, you could also read it as 'spend 470 days at full mana' basically

So how does the mana debt work? Does it take a total of what her regen would be from base as the debt, or is it actually time based? If it is time based, oof, that is gonna suck. If it is just the total amount of mana that she would generate in that amount of time based off of her regen, then it won't be so bad with Sun's ritual active. I kinda hope it is the total of her regen, but at the same time, I don't think that the downside of not being able to Identify things is going to be too much of a problem for Sofia. Her scribe will likely find some loophole with the dagger's database if it is really necessary, or she will have someone along who doesn't have that restriction. Is the mana regen debt just because she can't level with the system anymore and thus can't get a level debt?

Fuuuuck lol. Frickin.... She ain't even drunk, actin like that lol. 470 days of no mana regen, goddamn. So I can assume we will be getting a more relaxed arc next? Maybe a time skip after/during/before? Lol. Says she can choose when to donate, so adventures could still happen sooner, but shes locked out of identify until the debt is paid and thats gotta suck in a world like that. It WAS the smart move - shes immortal, so a debt that is mostly just "time" in exchange for a better skill that will follow her for eons makes sense. But she doesn't mentally function on the time-scale of immortals yet so thats gonna feel like a while. Maybe she will take a break to go repair the memories of everyone else now? Just travel around and fix people for a couple months? Ehh maybe less, shes fast and doesn't know that many people. Couple weeks more like. Time spent with the baby dryad or whatever is goin on there? Time spent workin on Zangdar? Whichever direction things go after this trial, it'll be fun and interesting despite the mana regen debt.

TFTC. Until she specifically mentioned there’s no spectating between waves I was thinking the spectators were watching her yell at the high scribe and then actually get a response and yell more. She got some solid options like the “survived uncle Ed” one but the last one does seem to have some offensive potential if the skeletons free themselves is anything to go by.
