Hello! If last week I was late, now I'm a little early, but I really wanted to share this week's progress, and couldn't wait one more day!
Maybe it's because I focused on G'raha and that made me happy, or maybe it's because this actually looks good...though it's G'raha, so that's a given. Anyway, I'm just happy with how this came out, so I really wanted to post this.
I always want to learn new things while making these, and I did!
I already spoiled that there's a Summer G'raha in this video, so let me spoil it some more. This is honestly my favorite animation of G'raha so far I've done, and probably the best part of this entire video, in my opinion.

Does it look convincing??? I hope it does. And it wasn't very complicated to set up at all! Just a little detail that I've been enjoying very much. Yes, that's the highlight of the week.
If I have the time after finishing the whole thing, I still want to come back to this and learn how to add water droplets or maybe a wet skin effect. If I do that now, I might not have enough time to finish the rest, so it's not guaranteed that I will do it. But I would!!!
I might make a tutorial on how I did this, and I can share the shader too, no problem. Maybe I can record it and test it out with other Scions, too...
Thancred also wears a white shirt, which would also have that transparent effect visible in the areas that are touching his skin. Alphinaud's summer outfit would also work well with this because of how it's shaped, but we know for sure he wouldn't go swimming.
Speaking of Alphy, I'm still struggling with if I should add Alphinaud to the video this time or not.
Brief venting incoming, but... he is my favorite Scion other than G'raha, and my whole idea of this game is to spend more time bonding with the Scions - it's not because there's a younger character in an otome game that his route would be treated with the same tone and intention than the others, right? It all depends on each one's relationship with the main character. I also keep up with some Alphinaud shippers in bluesky, and it's all very thoughtful and wholesome. So if I include him, I know I will have some not-so-nice comments, just like with last year's Eternal Bonds - context here is very open to interpretation, and some people immediately assume the worst in their minds. But if I don't, I will feel bad for excluding one of my favorite characters just because I'm honestly scared of mean comments. :')
I still have time to decide. This video has very limited character time anyway, so I won't be able to include half the characters I wanted to.
Anyway!
This is my current main timeline, by the way - most of it is inside the nests (green bar), so you can't see the full editing, but that way makes it easier for me to keep everything organized. As far as video duration goes, it is one the longer side in my channel! Might still get longer. I'm still working on having all of this fully complete. I finally started adding sound effects, and seeking for certain voice clips is taking me a while, but I'm sure I'll be able to find what I need.
This weekend was super important for me to get everything right (thank you for your understanding and support!!), and now I'm feeling optimistic again! Everything is falling into place again and I'm really happy with how it's going~

I'd love to help you however I can!! If there's anything specific you're struggling with starting let me know and I can ty to help :) are you looking for something more about starting the story process and how to organize it for a project, or the technical part and how to use Blender and premiere? I might have a video here that can already help you get started but I'd be happy to make a new one if you need it!

Thank you~ happy to hear it!! β€οΈ I'll be working on it the best I can! I'm relieved you understand :') I think all of them deserve to be shown love, each in their own way! There's so many ways to imagine it in a way that's thoughtful and appropriate that I'm sad there's people that will always jump to the worst conclusions. Trying to explain it to them is also pointless, because the majority of those comments never really asked "why is he here", only got angry and pointed fingers. Hopefully the majority isn't like that and it's just a loud small portion of people!

Liz! It looks great :D I am so excited! I'm also looking foreward to that shader tutorial :) And as a fellow Alphy fan I can understand you. It sucks when you only wish the best for a character and ppl just call you a creep for no reason. Of course his story can and maybe should be more fluff and lighthearted and appropriate. It does not need to be heated romantic love at all it can just be about a deep friendship but... like, a certain part of the internet makes it seem like he is not deserving of any kind of love or friendship at all just because he is a minor. (Even tho he is 16 - here he could already legally get a driving license and work part time jobs. Why note date somebody his age if he wanted to?) But well, you really have to be careful to state something like that in public. :/
