WIP: Starting the Remake!

Hello!! First update on the Inn Scene Remake! :D
I am SO EXCITED to make this one! Thank you for everyone that voted on the poll. In the end it was almost 50-50, but during the entire week, the remake was the most voted. I'm glad to know both videos seemed interesting, and I will make the Champion of Eorzea one eventually as well!
In fact I wanted to get started so fast that I already worked a few good hours on it during the week! Making this just makes me too happy~ I'm giggling all the way while posing the two of them.
The layout for the first part is already done, and in this week's video I will show and explain this entire process - everything is recorded. Now I'm just going to decide if next week I will keep layouting the second part (the Estinien scene), or if I start animating already. I want to do EVERYTHINGGGG
This one is also going to be really interesting to me because it's a clear comparison of my progress from one year ago. The idea of the video is the same, the character's actions and feelings as well...but I can already see an improvement, both from a technical perspective, from learning how to use Blender better, to an artistic one - new camera angles, better timing...and I want to add more details to the movement when I animate!
Plus, the Dawntrail models look SO GOOD!!!
With the right facial expressions and better lightning, I'm already enjoying how this scene looks. It's actually disappointing to compare it with the one ingame, because...Square Enix, please, why is this lighting so bad?! It's okay to not have my own delusional headcanon happen, but at least change the lighting a little bit! It doesn't even look like the same model...bottom one is a screenshot from the original cutscene (already after the DT update!), top is what I'm going for - and yes, I'm changing the text to match what he is saying in japanese. EN localization robbed us of sweet dreams.
I will spare no efforts on making this one the best I can. Right now, the layout with only the first part is 42 seconds long, and there's 11 shots - one of them is actually already 100% done. Differently from the first one, where I used the scene from the game as the first shot, I'm reanimating that one, too. It's all going to be my own animation - but using the background footage from the game.
My Blender environment looks like a big empty space with the occasional green prop to remove later. The usual.
With the second part, I assume it's going to be around 1 minute long? Let's see how that goes. I still have to rig Estinien to layout it!
I hope you enjoy this one, I'm pouring a lot of love in every frame. I really hope it comes out good~ <3

Thank you!! I'm excited to share it~ This one is very similar to my most recent ones in terms of workflow, but comparing to the first one, a lot has changed! Mostly things related to not knowing how to use Blender well enough - so for example, I had a file for each shot, which made me not want to use too many different cuts, so my first one is only 4 shots long. I also didn't know how to set up lights correctly, so that part is very different. I've also learned how to prioritize better when planning something, so now I'm able to avoid a lot of back and forth to fix things... Oh and comparing to the ones pre-DT, some things changed specifically regarding lighting and rendering, there's some different settings I have yet to learn 100%, and some lights I have to place differently, too! Like, now I'm actually placing a light to get the specular in their eyes, instead of having it as a texture.

I’m so excited to see this! I get it that you see the difference between projects, but how do you feel about your workflow? Did it change drastically?
