WIP: New beginnings!

Hello! First WIP update of the new project~
This week's been busy with work for me, so I didn't have as much progress as I'd like, but I think it worked well for this video in particular. There's a lot of small, faster to animate shots, which then I'm going to edit together with a song.
As I've mentioned in my last WIP post...I have been re-reading Eorzea Academy lately. And as you can imagine, I love my cute, slice of life, school romance anime. :P
So I'm making an opening for my own delusional Lizard/G'raha Eorzea Academy romance. It's going to be cute!
I've been watching a bunch of (mostly shoujo) romance anime openings to take inspiration from, and already animated a clip based on one of my favorites. I wonder if some people will be able to recognize them!
The animation part isn't going to be the biggest challenge. This time, it's more about rigging characters and altering models. I will have to rig every single character with the new outfit, and I want to have a lot of them appear.
The standard school uniform we have in the game isn't customizable, but every Eorzea Academy character wears it in a different way. I want to make it unique for each one, as much as possible. So far, I have G'raha!
I'm having a few issues with it that I have to figure out, but I'm fixing it as I go. I've never tried to get into altering the models like this, so it's a learning experience.
I wonder if people would be interested in them as mods later? When I feel like they're working for me, I would be happy to share them, too. I didn't find any school uniform mods when I was looking for them. And it would be fun if more people started making their own Eorzea Academy AUs. It's such a cute idea~
But I'm approaching this one little by little. So now that I have the two main characters, I'm animating and editing every shot I have planned for both, then when they're done, I will get the next character, and so on...
My timeline still has a lot of blank spaces, where I have a general idea of what I want to fill it with, but no direct reference or layout yet. The green bit selected there is done, at least! And the one with the many messy things over it is currently on the works. I did work like that in the otome game video, as well.
...and I do remember complaining that it didn't make things easy, but well. It worked, in the end. So let's go with that again and trust that future-me will be able to come up with something. Oh, sound here will be much easier as well, since it's really just the song. Maybe that will make things faster than I've been imagining!

Oh yeah for sure, Kyo and Tohru make a lot of sense together!! It always destined to be from the beginning. I can't help but like Yuki better though :') just found it really frustating at the time that he literally said he looks for validation from her as a...mother. That was so weird. I get what they were going for though. I still have to watch LWA! Looks like a show I'd definitely enjoy, just never got around to watching it

I mean i always loved kyo and tohru, i feel yuki getting validation from her makes sense i could seen it go either way but I think it worked better if machi had more time to develop but still a great story and a personal happy pill alongside shows like LWA

Yess, it's really cute! I've been re-reading it lately~ I'll try to include a few references to some things in the manga as well! Ohh Fruits Basket!!! I love it, too. I used to be so obsessed with Fruits Basket when the manga was first coming out...except, then the author decided to destroy my favorite ship and I abandoned the series. (spoilers) I mean, of course I expected Tohru to not end up with Yuki, but having him call her a MOM FIGURE?! Nooo that was too much for me. It took me years to pick it up again! :x It's so hard to pick favorites! I'd say mine is Full Moon wo Sagashite :) Also, fun fact! Did you watch the 2019 Fruits Basket remake? Kyo is voiced by Uchida Yuma (G'raha's JP VA)~
