Epic fights! Thanks for the chapter!

Monsoon117

They'll be joining his guild, so they'll know who he is. The next chapter will go into more detail about how it works. I'm ironing out the logistics for a while.

Hey Monsoon, great fights and chapter. I read the before and after and I love the added commentary at the end by Helios. Just a quick question, at the end when he is talking to Sheom, you mentioned he took of the gray armor. Did he also "remove" his helmet too? I know that around his friend he tends to keep it down, I'm just not sure if he keeps it down all the time now when not in combat or what. I'm not sure which... "smile" he gave her at the end and I'm trying to picture it.

Corwin Amber

thanks for the chapter

Corwin Amber

'"I'll sure he viewed' incomplete sentence

Monsoon117

I can change that or take it out. Thanks for the catch.

Monsoon117

I'll be adjusting the chapter some. I plan an adding a convo with Helios were he elaborates some to help alleviate some people's concerns about Daniel's current power level. I'll also changing a few other things, but that will be the meat of it.

Monsoon117

It's simple to explain a lot of this based on Daniel's substantial changes since the start of the story. He's no longer human, and is a living dimension. In that sense, the same limitations don't effect him like many others. High endurance also makes the body recuperate better proportionally. In Daniel's case, his health is so high and his body is so well put together at this point, that it takes more than a few missing limbs to kill him anymore. I can elaborate more on this to prevent some cognitive dissonance.

Monsoon117

Excellent suggestion and I'll add them.

This chapter was balls to the wall awesome!

Grevis165

Nice chapter! I like how you blend physics, melting ground, g-force from the blows, and everything all in one. Its quite tough to quantify everything as numbers, but I feel that his performance is balanced. Sure he has extra stats and a specific build, but the gialgathens are titans of their own right BEFORE they got every perk imaginable from the system based on their stats, levels and achievements. Having an army of Yawms is going to make his guild one of the top in the galaxy, if not the universe. Plus he has Torix. You don't need to explain every little thing, but I appreciate how much effort you've taken so far! Love your story man, keep up the hard work.

Some BS Deity

Truth, i love the skills and combat here. Just ignore the inconsistencies

Herald

I really enjoyed this chapter as well as many of the recent battles, but what your pointing out is always the problem when trying to superimpose game mechanics into the real world. Rather then his hp being low his physical state was a mess broken limbs missing chunks of himself and so on, in early chapters of the story crippling effects like that hindered his regenerative abilities so I'm more afraid that it only took 20 sec to regenerate when it should have been longer. I don't remember Daniel ever getting a skill that makes overcoming physical defects from pure regen, but his regen is stupid high and is hindered whenever he uses mana. Basically inconsistencies will always appear in stories with game mechanics in reality just ignore the little things and enjoy the tale.

BrauBaer

It is not.

Morzan The Lazy Dragon

before reading this does anyone know if this is an april fools chapter as I've been quite paranoid.

crusty pickle

i agree with this but in the end its the authors decision, and he could always siphon off his health regen to the cipher to make it seem like he is struggling more than he actually is

Zeal Iskander

Honestly, that doesn't look good. Daniel is the MC and has been around + progressed for 210 chapters. I can understand making him struggle against characters like Helios. Against these two tho? They just got into the system. They're only 2k levels above him. Etc. Let's talk specifics. Daniel weights 500 tons and regens 660k hp/s. This means that for Krog to even have a chance to winning, he must output over 660k hp/s after damage reduction. What's Daniel damage reduction again? .. oh, right. 98.5%. So unless he has a bonus in his enforcer tree that allows him to pierce through damage reduction (which is very unlikely, considering we know Altea is a special case in that regard and uses a very special kind of damage, while Krog uses punches and flaming breath), his dps needs to be about... 44 million hp / second. To even start hurting him. Even if he has the most broken skills like some kind of "damage ignores half of the target damage res", then he'd still need 22m dps! And if he could output that kind of damage, he STILL wouldn't be able to beat Daniel, because Daniel has a physical damage bonus of about 1 Million% and deals, with say a generous 97.5% damage res from Krog, at least a permanent 2k hp/s from event horizon on top of his ultra buffed-up damage. And if Krog can shrug off that kinda damage, we're looking at a character who can dish out 44m dps and is also durable enough to last against Daniel, while being in the System for about a week. Exact same for Chrona. Oh, and "Within twenty seconds, my health was back to being topped off." -> last time we saw him, he had 1k less levels and could regen his entire health pool in 19.7 seconds. Him taking 20s to regen means he had close to 0 hp, which, once again, is madness for a build that probably has the highest HP/regen of the whole universe, + the highest resistances ever + in a situation the entire chrono part of Chrona's class doesn't work against him. Him struggling here makes, imo, absolutely zero sense.

Thanks for the chapter!

I think it was more that the battle was just that taxing and in some ways more difficult that Yawmn. Because of the just massive amount of battle experience that they have. But he can still recover in like 5 seconds due to his regen.

OpCrystal

Y’know when he was doing the thing to try to connect with the dimension or bend the dimension to his will to learn time magic? I was just kinda wondering when he is going to reach the obvious conclusion that he is, in fact, a dimension. So manipulating his personal temporality shouldn’t be that hard, compared to forcing an entire universe to submit.

Leonard Marchant

It doesn't really makes sense how Daniel fell to his knees or being so exhausted fighting Krog. It feels like you used a lot more words to describe a struggle than usual, but this doesn't make Krog seem strong, it just makes Daniel seem weaker.

Alex

Fantastic imagery

Kevin Ramos

And so the student has become the master

No comments from Helios or talk with Caprika after the fight?

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter. Corrections: It had been the finally everyone had been hoping for. It had been the finale everyone had been hoping for. The difference was overwhelming, my inability to complete utter and absolute. The difference was overwhelming, my inability to compete, utter and absolute. Chrona recoiled from me, the molten metal singing her skin. Chrona recoiled from me, the molten metal singeing her skin.

Peacock

Now THAT is what I wanted! A fight with characters, and ones that are a threat! Very nice!

Monsoon117

Its given at the awards ceremony. I'll make Kiki mention that.

Alex R

Also shouldn't Daniel have gotten the mythical compendium before he left or does he need to be presented it by someone.

Alex R

It had been the finally everyone had been hoping for -> It had been the final/finale everyone had been hoping for

Monsoon117

Here's a longer chapter than normal for the last short one. I ended up getting sick right after posting my last chapter. I came down with a fever, and it was impossible to do anything for two days. After that, I started writing, but let me know if anything seems strange about it as you read it. I might not have been at my best, but it also might no have mattered.
