Monsoon117

Thanks and fixed.

Jeff091

hi, thanks for the chapter typo As flight returned flight-->light As light returned

Jamie Trevino

“It mentioned cloning an army of psionics.” -> “It mentioned cloning an army of psions.”

Jamie Trevino

Oop, you can’t *cloning psionics*, that would be like cloning thermodynamics. They’re cloning *psions*

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

Monsoon117

This is very true, and this is also why they didn't pull a 180 and join the Adair Family. Instead, they made sure to give as much data to Torix as possible, their strategist. In Hod's case, he focused on the more visceral, emotional aspect of the problem. He was more like, "Even if that's true, it doesn't matter in the end," essentially.

They’re right to be suspicious of schema. Why are they taking the reports from an enemy faction with circumstantial evidence at face value? They should probably see if they can find cross references before they start jumping to conclusions. The reports could just be propaganda. The Adair’s are a science strong faction what better propaganda than fabricated reports?

Monsoon117

That's a good idea. I can add some context to the segment, mentioning how Althea's seen a few other accusations from other reports and the like. It would be more like she's figured all this out over the past few weeks rather than all at once. That would help I think.

Monsoon117

He visits when people arrive. He isn't guarding all the time because he's pretty useful in lots of other places.

Bobby B.

Wow that was a haunting POV, however, how is Hod there when he should be on earth watching the eldritch chick?

Conor McGroarty

Probably nothing at the moment. The Adair family is a more pressing matter while Schema’s bs has been around for centuries (plus Schema hasn’t done too much to earth and Mc as of yet compared to Adair; the devil you know and such). He could even take some notes for his future reprogramming of Schema (the contract with Yawm gave him around 500 years I believe). Though I am curious when Hod got off earth and started helping lady friend?

Thanks for the chapter. I think it would be more believable if Althea found the rebellion reports in the head researcher’s room or like the groups adviser/observer or someone higher up their ladder. Why would a standard researcher know a lot of details about the rebellion if they are expected to be focusing on hybrids

Hana Buechel

Nice to see how fucked up both sides are! Schemas darkness as well as the rebellions. One can really understand why the rebellion would have to go to such lengths in order to combat schema. Wonder what Daniel will do with the new info?

Qudy

This POV change is quite good and i loved it. I missed Hod.NEED MORE HOD.

Monsoon117

I can change that so that Althea's faster at reading, so he asks for a TLDR essentially. That should make sense and help with the suspension of disbelief. EDIT: That's what I did actually. It never said he can't read or anything, he just wanted Althea to do it since, 'Hod not good at read.'

Monsoon117

Daniel was exiled when he discovered the cipher. He doesn't want that to happen to them.

Harb

I like the chapter with the motivation and organisation of the other side. One comment about Hod, it’s in character that he's not good at reading but then I thought about his level and the system and it feels odd that he can’t read.

Tommy Littlefield

Wait has Daniel never told them he uses the dementional cypher? Like why does she think that’s ridiculous?

Nicholas F

Except the Remnants are the ones who built Schema. To their perspective it's like building a roborooter to clean the sewer and instead getting Chairman Mao complete with Cultural Revolution. If Schema is preventing the Eldritch problem from being solved it is fundamentally flawed. It is like living in a nuclear reactor that kills anyone who points out it is going critical because it doesn't want to be turned off.

Gabriel

Why are all the big factions basically pure evil? Ends justify the means type of evil where basically whatever ends they feel like justifies whatever means they feel like. From the Adair's perspective schema is a deeply flawed self aware system that doesn't fix itself for unknown reasons so that makes it okay for them to do basically anything. While schema is reality seems like an old one where you got not idea why it does what it does how it does. It seems like schema should be waaaaaay smarter than it seems like it is so that may lead one to think it has all sorts of crazy plans no one knows about. It seems like silly human arrogance on the Adair's part to truly believe they can out smart a comos powered super computer set on fighting elder gods.

This was a DARK chapter. Really good though. It was a bit different but it was a good way to clear up confusion and holes and to give the reader new information while being surrounded by cold-blooded killing. Well done!

Monsoon117

It's always fun to write them out too. It helps with characterization a lot since it lets you know the character's thoughts. For me, it's always nice to explore different portions of the story in detail like this. It makes it more real, even for me.

Vin Reisling

Not heard from althea in aaaaages. So this was nice. Cool to see hod in action too!

Sebas Tian

Small but nice, thanks for the chapter man! Tbh I do like alternative POV chapters ever once in awhile, imo helps flesh them out while also taking a peek under the hood of what they are thinking.

Monsoon117

As always, I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter. This one was very fun to write, yet it was also challenging. It presents a lot of possibilities. It also creates more questions than it answers. Let me know if you noticed something that I might have missed. I always do my best, but I miss details sometimes. Have a good day guys/gals.

EitherWay
