Monsoon117

You mean the Adair family? They're a larger entity than you'd think. I'll leave it at that for now.

Shannon Smith

So they're still caught up on one planet, and attacking an Empire at the same time? Wouldn't it have been far smarter to get done with one job before tackling an even harder one?

Monsoon117

It's an interesting dissonance. Daniel is one of the strongest characters in the series, yet he is the least affected by his power. IMO, it's because Daniel's rise to prominence has been very sudden. Helios was born into prominence, and that gives him little respect for those that lack the same luck. Daniel was there just a few years ago, and that means he still remembers it like it was yesterday. That difference in perspectives shows most in these kinds of situations. Helios thinks its the worst thing in the world to lose his position. Daniel doesn't think being an everyday dude is bad because he was one for most of his life.

Wow, its mad to see just how different the perspectives make this interaction, all that missed tension, Daniel is all "wassup new best friend" lol

Monsoon117

Thank you. This kind of thing is always heartening to read.

I'll have a quick update this next chapter. I've got a good idea of how to do it as well.

Monsoon117

What do you mean by a stretch? You mean that those being the only fights left seems like a stretch?

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter. Good, about times the Adairs started moving, especially with talk of premade rebellions.

Ray Burns

Thanks for the chapter. Was wondering what progress Daniel is making towards sovereign and if he's been keeping up with dungeon cores to get the extra skill/tree points.

Omega

Thanks, a little mistake i found: One the one hand, it gave us and our family positions of power

Hana Buechel

I really enjoy other people’s POVs. Interesting to get new and different perspectives. It would be interesting if you make it so the empires mask culture has a deeper meaning as different species may have other needs/ wants and reactions. Daniel fiends the rebellions wishes fine as from a human perspective what they want is natural, but he forgets they aren’t human. I’d say play with alien cultures more. Ty for chapter. Was great!!

Dominic French

I'm kinda hoping for a surprise we expect Schema to loose and the rebellion to win but what if something else happens lol

The save and cull operations are more or less similar to one another (MC and friends pretty much have the formula down) so author is probably thinking about glossing over with a small time skip or being sparse with the details while focusing on changes in between. In any case, things are going to come to a head when the glassing comes. It is the in universe moment of when the rebellion happens for real by proving that Schema’s most direct method of control (planetary destruction as System removal seems ineffective as they seem to have a System hacker who inevitably also knows the cipher as both are linked closely) is not a threat; or at least it isn’t one sided and they can fight (they have hope basically). Afterwards MC should be making a jaunt to settle Earth’s situation and basically unite it under the Legion (the rank and file will be instrumental in this as this is also an opportunity for them to get stronger). Next would probably be going to Wrath’s homeworld (was it called slus or slush?) to pimpslap Plazia-Ruhl who is probably related to Baldag-Ruhl in some way (it could be that -Ruhl is a name all hive minds have in common from maybe the first hive mind or whatever, kinda like a species surname or maybe just a clan name?). Should be interesting as Plazia isn’t limited like Baldag-Ruhl was, trapped in a dungeon and unable to properly feed and grow stronger. Plazia should also have a decent understanding of the cipher and should be planning something big (Daniel needs to stop that as this rebellion will also allow Plazia to make more overt moves while Schema is distracted). There were also those crocodile looking people but that should be something quick and easy compared to Plazia.

Can’t say I’m too surprised as it was a matter of when the Empire has to deal with hybrids, not if. After all it is the biggest local power around with civil strife not uncommon. In other words an ideal target for Elysium. Good news is that this should have Obolis reevaluating the significance of the blighted schism and whether the planet cracking will go well. Spatial fortress vs Lehesion. Worst case scenario is the fortress is seized control of or freed of control. The next would be its destruction I suppose. Then enough damage that it has to retreat and failed in its mission. And the best case scenario for Schema is that the glassing occurs with no problem (even if Lehesion appears he isn’t able to stop it). I think that it suffering great damage and failing the mission is the most likely, though the other bad options are possible depending on the general story direction. The least likely is things going off without issue. People Daniel has failed to save are: his friends from his childhood (though they were kinda dickish for using him and for trying to run while be a vector for the plague), most people from Springfield, some eltari (hod’s race with the old elder lady being prominent and some eltari kid), various gialgathens (Emagrotha among them but MC honestly couldn’t do much without greater proficiency in the cipher and research which he didn’t have time as the longer she stayed around the higher the chances that she could be seized by those wanting to use her; probably Elysium for more research or just as something to regularly feed the Hybrids) and I think thats it? Feel free to add more to the “Daniel’s failings” list (Alfred/Lord of Worms could be counted as MC mused to himself how there may have been some way to help him had Torix helped and such).

Kemizle

Also find it funny that if the empire had helped squashed this earlier they would have had a leg up

Kemizle

The three more battles in Torix’s plan seem like a stretch

I like the direction the story is going although I would love to see some more progression from Daniel and for him and his own to get off of Guiess. Because right now I can just feel the impending doom of whatever is about to happen because I doubt it's going to work out for them

s476

That ending though, really looking forward to seeing how the emperor fares.

Monsoon117

Forgot to mention the POV at the beginning of the chapter. It's Helios for those that read the chapter through email. Either way, let me know if you enjoy the direction the story is heading. Either way, it's going to get interesting soon.
