Oh, finaly a normie´s perspective, we lacked that. Though how did they survive in middle of nowhere, I would bet larger settlements would have better fighting conditions to keep dungeons under control. On lighter note, it would be far more effective to use dildo shaped rocks. Fighting Harbinger sucks as it is, but now you are gonna remembered as gay pancake.

Mythos 50

How long till the next chapter is released?

Idan tal

262?

Wrath

Thanks for the chapter I really enjoyed the perspective of the farmer and his family trying to survive in the New World also like to see how other people think of the harbingers legion and what kind of training they do is there a good little Side Stories. I hope you're staying safe and you're doing great thank you for your continued work.

alexander julian

Yo wtf actually happens in the tutorials!? Does schema just set a bunch of wolves on people with no enhancements coz that's fuggin wack bro

alexander julian

And if you have to protect weaker people rather than squad up to take out dungeons

Monsoon117

Good points I didn't consider. I'll see if I can't explain those situations.

BrauBaer

Thanks for the chapter.

Thanks for the chapter.

I was wondering how MC was holding it? Was he using a gravity well while forming the thing or was he able to control it and float it as he made it (still would have required some mana upkeep for keeping it steady). In any case, it seems to me it did enough damage even with minimal gravity or the like. Wonder if MCs mass is enough to hold onto one or more of those at a time? After all, it is a good tactic that is hard to stop even if you know about it ahead of time but that doesn’t make it impossible. At least to me the way it took nearly 30 minutes is a flaw (not like it will matter for these three cities as it is going to happen too quick). Could be that MC may make something like a disposable Pilum (throwing spear) made of his armor and charged with mana as a quicker alternative to orbital strikes or cliff dropping. Or maybe just keep a cliff or two in his dimensional storage if MCs mass is enough. Could be a few ways it can go. In other news, it would really be great if MC is able to get a hold of primordial mana even though it would be the most difficult for MC (quintessence would likely be the hardest for Torix). After all, his other legendary skills are based around advanced mana types so it shouldn’t be strange for his third legendary to be around primordial. Who knows, maybe the three types would even fuse into a final mana type thus not requiring MC to shift mana types at all unless he wants to. Perhaps portals and the like could also help as I recall that scrying is considered a basic section of portals and such. MC could use portals well even if they are only planetary in distance as he could just keep spamming orbital bombardment; no need to fly up to atmosphere and just make a portal and head in for the next round. But all this boils down to is time and MC is on a tight schedule what with Giess being done in less than a month (how many weeks?) and so MC has to choose most efficient route.

Can’t just have “click button and now you’re in” kind of thing. There also has to be a faction sense of belonging and the like (at least some kind of access to some basic logistics and training; that takes time to organize not to mention it is of lower priority than Giess). At least that should be the way for a long term perspective. But maybe they could sent some “recruiters” to act as a regional manager and go from there. Honestly people back at base are busy training, learning and other things. It only needs the order and they should move out.

Conor McGroarty

If it is only terminal velocity (basically the maximum speed reached from gravity, air resistance and mass I think?) it doesn’t need that much height. A human for example isn’t too much (around 100 ft? Forget exact number) and it doesn’t matter whether you fall from 1000 or 10000 feet as terminal velocity is the “peak” value unless something else is added (like rocket thrusters or MCs gravity wells). So it isn’t wrong for MC to decide to use a height for optimal efficiency as it would get diminishing returns if you have them time to get away or fire at it. I wonder if the Adair’s watch the live stream too? Or perhaps Torix and the rest record it and post it like an hour later if it requires something like secrecy. Would reach a point where it is pointless to not post as Adair’s do get some info from this. As for Earth, the Empire is the nearest presence that could possibly claim ownership and they no longer have the leeway for that (not to mention that taking the homeworld of your ally is a great way to kill a relationship). The other people who could are also busy with the Schism or the place is otherwise too far away. Plus I’m not sure whether the grace period Schema institutes for new worlds is quite over yet (guilds can only come in full force and clear dungeons then, otherwise it can only be scouts and such).

There needs to be something about expanding the guild! They seem to be very passive even knowing someone else could swoop in and take over ownership of the planet out from under them. As for the stone unless he threw it with his gravity 3000 ft isnt enough to make the stone glow, and wouldn’t it make more sense to drop a smaller projectile farther up? Faster charge time. “Rod From God” style

Just a thought, why didn’t Daniel “push” the rock? Either physically or with gravity wells?

Hana Buechel

Enjoyed the chapter and POV. I like learning about how earth humans are doing like this. Expanding the world. Ty for chapter!

pukeofhurl

daniel should send a directive to his guild to expand if there is no guild limit he should recruit EVERY human as fast as possible and get them all his guild buff and give them all a small mana siphon that feeds back to daniel like he did with yawm even if its like 1 mana per hour each its a few million extra per day if he gets most of the humans left and that could go straight into the cypher fueling growth.. while giving the common folk an edge with buffs raising the humans as a whole

Roderick McKinney

Thanks for the chapter. Surprised the ad doesn't say anything about pickup(warpers) or online joining.

Lancelot9402

Really liked it. Thank you gives a nice comparison and shows the far more mundane/dreary side of post-integration.

Omega

Thanks for the chap, are we ever going to see any more art of danny boys new look?

Kevin Ramos

Oh boy, this has to suck for a lot of people. Like, hot damn, if you arnt with Daniel's group your basically back in the stone age with everything trying to kill you.

Alex R

Where is Daniel's home base?

Alex R

Yay, belated birthday present.

This chapter was difficult to write for several reasons. I wanted to establish a viewpoint outside of the Harbinger's influence from some average person while relating it back to the main plot. I remember many of you mentioning you wanted to see an average joe's perspective, and this chapter was designed to do that while having a bit of character development as well. Let me know if you enjoyed it, and Paul Williamson will be a recurring POV every 5-10 chapters for a bit. If you guys dislike his perspective, then I'll inject him less. Either way, I got a hold of his voice, so writing out his viewpoint shouldn't be as difficult anymore. Hopefully.
