Kingtie

This golem makes me think he's the terminator! However unlike the terminator he's terrifying! Simple saying long live the legion sends a chill down my spine, great stuff!

Titaniumtac

I assumed they were trying to eat him, not actually succeeding.

Spicyice101

I know I’m late with this, but how were the crustaceans getting nutrients out of him, I thought he was supposed to be inedible to Eldritch?

Jonathan

could be worse. You could be starved like those ancient eldritch animals.

alexander julian

Idk I'd like to think the old ones are just gods of the universe. Possibly multiverse. The idea that there beings seems odd and sort of lame. I have no doubt Schema is a major anomaly. Well there implying that the eldritch would have just slowly trickled in and things would have evolved around them. Schema seems to shunt them all in at once and I'm not sure why

Code Reed

Good point. Maybe they can eventually, but there are still things we've yet to learn about them. Most of them tend to be like the eldrich in nature, but there smart. If one goes, they would all go. If they all go, no one would get anything because they would fight eachother. Like our worlds nuck peace. Mutually assured destruction. Maybe Schema is an anomaly. Without Schema things would have played out a lot differently in the way worlds were introduced to the eldrech. Daniel probably wouldn't be the way he is now. And let's not forget that the old one is the only reason that Dragon guy is God like in power. What I'm getting at is that it's possible that most of the old ones are eldrich in nature because there typically the only things that can survive the universe burning out. Maybe. There's holes in it, but there are possibilities.

alexander julian

Possibly but I dont see why Daniel would be unable to directly manifest in the world

Code Reed

I'm fairly sure that's what the old ones are. Bring a new level to the name when you consider how long a universe is expected to live.

Regnal

Well if Schema or an old one are against him directly he is done. I'm more talking like anybody else trying to isolate him to remove him as a threat if they realize they cant kill him. All he needs is the ability to escape from imprisonment and he should be good.

alexander julian

Schema is stately not omnipotent. Just as close as you can get

alexander julian

Absolute gold. I feel like Daniel will basically become God when the universe consumes itself

Monsoon117

Hell yeah. This is great to hear.

Pretentious Slime

Hmm, maybe. Banishment or relocation to the space an old one inhabits would probably be schemas way of stopping him. Not killing. Also schema is like an omnipotent being. I’m sure for now and a while longer even a hacks warp technique won’t do jack if schema decides Daniel is a threat.

Monsoon117

Good point. Thanks for the fix.

Wrath

Another great chapter thank you for your continued hard work.

Regnal

So the only thing that can hurt Daniel now is isolation in a desolate wasteland. His most important defense is to learn how to warp so he can relocate to inhabited parts of the universe when all else dies around him. That is all he needs after the last form of mana and the sovereign skill. He will then be unstoppable.

Kalle

Great chapter, happy that you have gotten back to writing, been missing these pieces of gold

Turora

Great chapter! The exploration part reminded me of C.S. Lewis’s The Magician’s Nephew when the kids stumbled across the White Witch’s home world. The utter deadness of it all. Though not the same imagery, the emotions you evoked were much the same. That kind of creeping chill, the terror a dying world instills, is quite fascinating. I also like how this gives a plausible explanation for what the eldritch might be, and where they could come from. Perhaps all life is destined to become eldritch at the end of all things? Thanks for the chapter!

Bobby B.

Man, the chills on that one are real

Bobby B.

I'll need to reread this now

TheRaptorOfHermes

Alpha's awesome!

BrauBaer

Thanks for the chapter.

Killer Pickle

Long live the emperor

EvilGodAsura

Very good stuff the only downside is it makes me hungry for new chapters like a ravenous dog starved for days.

Blake Richardson

Thanks for the chapter

Code Reed

Yeah, I liked that angle. It's like another universe that just older. It's so old that everything is on the cusp of burning out. Life isn't easy to extinguish. I can easily believe it evolved such tenacious creatures. I always imagined Eldritch coming from some energy plain, where nothing has substance and the power of one's mind trumped all until given physical form. The fact that another type of creature that's so similar to typical Eldritch exists, and travels the divide is fascinating. I wonder if all the creatures we call Eldritch are in actuality from a multitude of places. I wouldn't be surprised if old ones are beings similar to Daniel himself. Beings that survived the crushing emptiness of the end of there universe. Id imagine the loneliness could drive anyone to madness. Schema is an existence similar to them, and I imagine it would survive just like Daniel. The fact that those places are on the verge of dying could explain why there are rifts to begin with. Most things seek equilibrium. And old universe starts to destabilize and the fabric that holds it together starts to loosen. A new-ish universe with the strength to hold back most, but not all of that loosening present a valve for universes to lean on eachother. The longer the history of the multiverse extends, the more and more Eldritch and old ones there are for the newer universes to contend with. Man, this is all fascinating to think about.

Jonathan

It was chilling, especially the projections for himself Daniel came to from exploring there. However, I can't possibly be the only one that was waiting for Daniel to find the core and close that rift, can I?

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

J. Andraos

Every Alpha speaks, I hear everything he says in the voice of a Dreadnought from Dawn of War II. Its So Epic!

Pranav

I enjoyed the exploration bit a lot, sets a perspective and has potential to be a bigger story piece too. As usual, big fan of your work.

Pranav

Long love the Legion. Well said.

Ferco

I didn't really liked or disliked the exploration part by itself, but I found very interesting Daniel's reaction to that place. After all... it was a very disturbing place... I also don't mind the break between massacres. I really like how you write fights, but it can be tiresome if it's repeated for several chapters in a row. Is that one of the reasons why last Blegara's fights have been from a general undetailed point of view? I think you're mixing all of that very well, not everything can be about how awesome Daniel is at destroying things xD

Hana Buechel

I LOVE the exploration chapter! I can also clearly see you used scientific theory for it as I know when discussing if life is on other planets the one you described is quite close to one of those theory’s. I truely appreciate that your Fantacy creations are based on reality but also have an alien wonder to them. Ty for chapter.

K

I had to stop doing other things just to pay more attention to that exploration section. I really enjoyed how detailed it was and you worded it in a way that made me get chills from imagining myself in that environment. I would very much enjoy more sections like it in the future!

Lockwood

I like seeing the different places. Exploration is a sweet facet to look through with Daniel. Keep up the great work man!

MAJmuffin

Yo man, I rarely comment but I have been a supporter of you since I read the first 25 chapters on Royalroad. I just have to say that it is a awesome story and you're doing great!

Lonny

I really enjoy them. They make the whole world feel much more lifelike. We are not confined to the narrow view of just the places the main story takes place in and that is fun. :)

Monsoon117

Let me know if you enjoy more exploration focused chapters. I know this kind of chapter if a fun focus from time to time, and I really enjoy describing things. Either way, let me know if anything seems out of place or poorly put together. I'll my best to fix it. After all, it's less about the mistakes we make and more how we respond to them.
