I have to agree with a further up comment that Daniel should definitely try to have a cipher that adds onto his mass, if it ends up being more efficient, simply due to the MASSIVE amounts of synergy he gets for having higher mass

Scott Rutherford

If Torix organized his general knowledge skills, rounded them out properly, and spent enough of his immortality fusing said skills together, he'd have some mad legendary skills formed one day. Does he know he could do that?

Thomas Bowden

That comment was from when Torix was level 1000, though, and when he was heavily focused on summoning, IIRC. It's possible he used the new 4000 levels to alter his build for better rune potential. Although he is a summoner, the book does emphasize his desire for research. Hey, he even turned himself into a lich to keep researching.

Thomas Bowden

Since he's already learned gravity, it would be cool if he learned the other four forces-strong nuclear, weak nuclear, and electromagnetic, IIRC. Don't know why, but I always feel arcane or true damage would be something in the nuclear force category. If he were to master ionic forces, he could essentially create an antimagic or silence field, given that the general nature of magic in this book seems to be based on the laws of nature+. Also looking forward to the 10,000 stat perks for Constitution and Intelligence. Who knows, if he gets lucky (:p) and when the cipher feed starts picking up, he may even get the Luck perk.

Monsoon117

Damn dude, That's a fantastic idea. I'm using it now. I'll also be implementing some other stuff to since that alone would be meh for a 2,500 point tree.

Jeremiah Paltridge

If you look earlier into weight themed perks he's picked up, he has the field that exerts pressure on his surroundings. This results in both psychological and physical suppression. The physical aspect becomes far more finely tuned during combat, as gravity/kinetic fields are directly controlled. Rather than a charisma bonus, perhaps a bonus to intimidation or negotiation versus anyone affected by the field. This would synergize well with the diplomatic endeavors in upcoming chapters.

Gam

I would probably have the first book end after getting out of blood hallow, or when he first met Torix.

PloofDoodle

Nah, just very big

Kurt A

Well, maybe not a charisma bonus since that was already done, but maybe something that improves the mind as size/weigh/phys damage bonus increases? It doesn't have to be a stat thing, it could be something that makes it easier to make correct observations about other people?

Monsoon117

Oh definitely. I have no idea how to do any of that though. I should do that right now honestly, but I've been putting it off. At least my cut has been going great so far. That's good I suppose.

Magnus Gullhav Leikvik

Why do yo not just writhe it into exel and make the formulas with 2 varietals (lvl and cipher) then all you need to do is change the varietals and ad to the equation to get a finished stat display? would save time in the long run.

Monsoon117

That's a simple fix though. I just change the multiplier. If I added say 1% of mass as additional charisma, it would cause all kinds of shifts in the math. I do that say, 30 more times and the spreadsheet would take several hours to complete.

Monsoon117

Yeah, but Althea has some unfair advantages over most.

Alex R

Isnt that the first reward though with math thrown into it? It decreases the charisma penalty.

Kurt A

Maybe a boost that increases his Charisma by a point every 1000kg of mass?

Alex R

What all where you originally thinking? I've found bouncing ideas off of others helps sometimes especially when they are as invested as some of us are.

Alex R

It's not bad, just doesnt fit the theme. Most other tree perks fit the theme of the tree iirc.

Zeal Iskander

Oh she has obliterator 1, that explains! Thanks a lot. Wasn't it supposed to be somewhat unlikely to get though / fairly unknown?

Monsoon117

The secondary reward for the tree was quality of life skills. I could change the reward to something else though. I honestly struggled to think of ideas for that tree though that wouldn't be broken. It's primary reward already over doubles his strength. It nearly quintupled it.

Monsoon117

Excellent point. I done goofed. I'll alter a few lines of dialogue for this. Thank you for reminding me.

Monsoon117

She has the damage pen and more strength. Her immaterial bonus gives her a 20 times multiplier for all her physical damage, she gets slightly more bonus damage from trees, and she can crit with her attacks. All in all, it adds up to a massive increase in damage. That's what I based that off of.

Monsoon117

Althea has obliterator I and she get's doubled strength. Combine that with the two perks that increase str, con, and end, she ends up with 2*1.2=2.4 multiplier with 5,000*(1.2(1 skill per level and .2 on average for her perk points)+.8(Obliterator 1 gives 4 skills per five levels)) points per level. It adds up to around 24,000 thousand strength. Combine that with a few trees and you have her strength total.

Zeal Iskander

Hey man, question : how does Althea got so much strength? Daniel has Obliterator for almost x2 point gain, Obliterator II for ANOTHER x2 point gain, Determinator for +40% end, AND he has stats that feed into endurance. He gets 19 points per 5 levels (+40%, thats approx 26 points of endurance per 5 level, + his loops, so it's prolly more around 30 per 5 level) where Althea only gets +5 per 5 levels. Yet she has MORE THAN HALF of his endurance into strength. Even if she had a skill that doubled her strength points she wouldn't come close to having so much strength. So, how come?

Alex R

Daniel getting the ability to have a second legendary out of immense doesnt make sense to me. I feel like it is out of place.

Loipers

"Torix grinned, "Althea and I both invest into Perception as one of our cardinal attributes." In one of the earlier chapters, didn't torix say he invested in charisma instead of perception? I'm pretty sure that was the reason he couldn't understand Baldagh Ruhl's runes but Daniel could.

Ashrothe

Wouldn't her immaterial nature alter the mass portion?

Alex R

Althea also has arcane blood like Daniel do she does not have mana.

Maritropa

Great chapter btw, enjoyed that sudden transition to Outer God town

Maritropa

Lol, Etorhma is like that grandma that incessantly offers you food even when you're about to burst

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter. Glad we saw Althea's status. Etorhma seems nice.

Pixelblade

I'm almost afraid of what his stat gains from the dimensional cypher will look like after he upgrades the rune. (Not as afraid as his enemies should rightly be)

Zeal Iskander

Nice! A few remarks : - Need his cipher rewards. - Althea skill to convert %PDAM is something that ties her character sheet together. +900K HP that feeds into regen that feeds into her Etorhma's Sorrow - If only Daniel could learn that skill. I'd love to see him make a cipher rune for +mass, given that mass feeds into x0.25 PDAM, that would then feed into x1 health, that feeds into x1 regen (from Undying force), that feeds into mana, that feeds into the cipher for more mass... would really love to see that loop lol. - no mana regen for Althea? - "you deal more damage than me. Tradeoffs" -> UUUUGH... I mean, energy = mass x velocity^2, so just by propelling himself into his enemies, he likely deals more damage than her. (unless Schema rules prevent him from inflicting damage that way..) - A very nice chapter as always.

Monsoon117

Thank you for all the fixes man.

Monsoon117

That book would be over 1,900 pages long lol.

"I..yeah, I'd like that." Ellipsis is 3 punctuation marks. "I doubt many would want to fight a level A good rule of thumb" there's no mention of level. "You're perception can help mask you." it's your not you're. Though, as always, a treat to read.

PloofDoodle

This could be end of book one

Jess Koch

Ain't that the truth

Monsoon117

Thanks for the help.

28th00

Maybe he simply doesn't comprehend that the way it sees the world is "Wrong" to how other people see it, therefore making "Pure Knowledge and Information" into a corruption type info virus?

"Althea her head against my arm" Only mistake that stood out to me. Thanks for the chapter though I always seem to get excited when I see a new chapter up :)

Connor Alexander

Far out whats Etorhma's deal? I wonder if he is akin to Yog Sthoth from the Cthulu mythos and grants knowledge that is somewhat twisted.

Monsoon117

Thank you for the fix. All the numbers bleed together after a while.

Kevin Ramos

Yo dog have this. Naw dog, I don't want nothing that touched yo tentacle hands. Ayt. You're getting it anyway. Never trust the tentacle ones.

Sanairb

From status: Endurance – 42,104. From following text: "34,000 endurance...He's not even level 6,000."

Nathanuel Vine

We do thank you for the chap

Monsoon117

I feel good about this chapter. Lots of info, plenty going on, and we get to see a status of Althea. Hope you guys enjoy the developments.
