The giaglethens magic sounds really cool. Also Daniels attitude to the race relations makes me think its possible he could win the respect of their society or something? Become an honorary frog dragon?

alexander julian

I agree that is weirdly socially adept given how his whole shtick in terms of weaknesses is that he's really uncharasmatic/everyone is scared horrified by him. In saying that it's not like people a aren't. For example Kiki in this chapter. And him being empathetic while new is showing A. That he is developing from all the internal conflict he's from fucking people over on Earth. B it shows that not being in yawms hell and being with Althea let's him act more kindly: being empathetic to Torix, minimising harm to his opponents

On A similar note, I know that it was previously said that Monsoon was going to try and “redeem” Kessiah, however I can’t say I like the way it’s happening. The way she’s helped and “redeemed” herself feels really out of place even if she was like that the whole time, being some kinda undercover protected for the rest of the crew. I wasn’t going to say anything until Daniel massive reaction to an insult towards her, which just felt really weird, yea she’s done some things to help, but sadly, it just felt... out of place? To me at least. If it was for Althea or Torix, maybe even Hod it’d be a little different, I guess I kinda personally separated Kessiah a little from the rest of the group

Dang it man, I got excited because I thought you made a really good pun. The title is “leaving an impression” and I thought that the impression would be the massive crater made by Daniel when he slams like a meteorite into the ground. Oh well, anyways, keep up the good work man! These chapters are so good. I do think that ja nein has a really good point tho. I was kinda getting that vibe as well when Daniel was basically being a perfect human and stuff. Not bad, just a warning. This is ten chapters behind, but feedback is good anyways I guess. I digress, keep it up!

"Tohtella shook her head, "There metabolisms can tolerate silver flesh despite it being loaded with toxins."" Their* metabolisms....

Highfist

eh i agree with Tortilla on the topic of Kessiah

Monsoon117

That;s for sure. Schema's descriptions will often have something like, "This being's strength exceeds its level. etc," though.

Pretentious Slime

That makes a lot more sence, but I find it hard to believe that danial will only ever fight (and kill) Eldritch.

Monsoon117

I think that level of insight is more than the level system was ever intended to convey on a person to person basis. For eldritch, the growth rate is taken into consideration when trying to take them down. This is because the exp reward has to be consistent. Schema isn't as particular with people because you're not supposed to be killing people for the most part.

Alex R

That's more why I said beat than stronger than. Daniel isnt close to as strong as some of the stronger people in Schemas universe but his ability to tank damage is probably one of the highest if not the highest. You arent going to outlast him but you can two shot him.

Pretentious Slime

I have a hard time seeing danial split the sea with his current prowess. His more astounding capability’s come mainly from his rediculous amounts of health and regeneration as well as mana (which happens to be directly connected to his health.) so he may not be able to split the ocean, but he doesn’t exactly need to if he’s practically unkillable. (Not entirely but very hard to kill)

Pretentious Slime

Another PS: I was low balling Danials immortal scale status. But was also high balling Danials Harbinger status.

Pretentious Slime

PS: immortal- 3, would mean that danial is 10,000 times greater at not dyeing then your average immortal enemy(at danials level)in schemas level system. Also, immortal could mean that you just Regen faster then your body dies in the long run. So, arguably, there are tons of immortals in the world that monsoon created.

Pretentious Slime

FYI: this scale, like the Richter scale, only reaches lvl 10.

Pretentious Slime

To some that scaleing could be very sygnifant and might even diswade them from trying anything with Danial.

Pretentious Slime

This can also be more broad when considering all of the abnormal foes ability’s. I can imagine that Danials would probably be something very vague and ominous. Say: Harbinger- 4

Pretentious Slime

This would probably be some sort of highly advanced perception skill available to high level bounty hunters or something close. But I also think it would be nice to add in schemas descriptions when danial is fighting some abnormal foe.

Pretentious Slime

A very good example would be: The Harbinger _ Immortal-3 _ (Insert scaleling) _

Pretentious Slime

Allow me to explain. The system I thought up was made so that it would be easy figuring out exactly how strong someone like Danial was(in relations to everyone else at Danials level). Each level of this scale is 10times greater then the last. The first, ten times greater then what is considered ‘normal’ according to schemas level system standards.

Pretentious Slime

Richter scale, except it will be named something entirely different and based off something entirely fictional. I have created a scaling system that is quite adaptable and is exclusive towards anomolys like Danial.

Pretentious Slime

It’s like goku and power levels and how they never mattered because goku would always constantly get stronger. Why not rate an enemy on how likely they are to out pace you instead? Development speed should be more of a deciding factor.

Monsoon117

He's a legendary figure, so he'd be tough to say the least.

s476

He is said to fight against an army of skyburners, while daniel didnt want to engage 10at a time (+general)..so I think daniel is weaker atm

Alex R

Was Lehesion strong enough to beat Daniel? And if not could he beat Althea?

Pretentious Slime

There’s also the fact that Danial has been VERY smart with his build. Taking advantage of what has been given to him over time. It’s because of this that he can fairly have a lower level and still take on higher level enemy’s. People who can do this, I think, should be called anomolys. But also shouldn’t be judged on levels by anyone.

Pretentious Slime

Well to put it shortly, Danial, Althea, Yawm. These people are very much anomolys in Schemas leveling system and therefore shouldn’t be judged in strength based off lvl alone. I think schema never originally accounted for anomolys when he made the leveling system. I say this because the leveling system can more accurately deduce a NORMAL persons strength but fails to with Danial or Althea’s.

Monsoon117

That's happened to me before. Try not to go over 300 words with the comments. I wish I'd seen them though.

Monsoon117

Oh no, of course not. Thank you for letting me know. It's always good to get feedback. Gives me an idea of where to improve and whatnot.

Pretentious Slime

Maybe my comment was too long?

Pretentious Slime

I keep trying to make a comment but they for some reason won’t stay.

Monsoon117

They come from a byproduct of mana pollution. It will be elaborated as more is revealed about the silvers further on in the arc.

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter. Looks like someone who might be interested in helping against the Skyburners.

ja nein

It was never my intention to hurt you nor did i mean to suggest it has already been going down. All i feared that it could develop that way. While alot of the story has been Daniel struggling against huge odds, i do like where he is now power wise, a true harbringer and being able to dominate his enemies, since it was hard earned might. What i meant was more his character development. For example : That scene with torix where he was worried about being useless. Daniel was extremely empathatic there, which was never a trait i associated with him, nor something he was very gifted in. Or him feeling as witty as the speaker lady (whatwashername thote something). I think he needs to keep some of his rough edges in his character, without being too smooth all over. mind you this is just the opinion of one of your countless readers. But youre the author and you write the story. I really hope i am not giving you a sleepless night with this.

Connor Alexander

Thanks for that explanation, it was clarifying. Good to see it is consistent, and bring those details back up helps me see what you mean. Another question about the ecology: since both of the (recognised) sentient races on this planet are amphibious does that mean that the planet is rather tropical due to the mana everywhere? And were those massive seas of filth originally healthy seas, or were those formed by the silver’s expansion?

Monsoon117

I thought about this comment a lot, and I can totally see where you're coming from. It kind of physically hurt to read honestly. I really never wanted to write out a mary sue kind of character. In this case, by showing Daniel developing himself, he's outpaced everyone around him. The difference definitely has led to a power /competence gap that's hard to work with. I intend on using that power against Daniel though, so I hope that raises your spirits about the story's development.

Monsoon117

There's two real reasons mentioned wayyy back when I brought up Giess. It's been months, so I can't really blame you guys for forgetting. First you have the silvers. There not as exponential as the eldritch, but they are a serious problem. They offer a large, endless supply of high level monsters to kill to rapidly level up. The second reason is that mana saturates Giess to its core. There were several chapters early on in Icosah mentioning how they used mana to supply vehicles and other basic supplies. While they passed over the forest of Giess, the same mechanic played out. This is why creatures like Gialgathens have come about. Creatures feed on mana, then creatures eat those mana charged creatures. Once you reach the top of the food chain, you end up with the gialgathens, very ancient and powerful creatures with tons of energy at their disposal. I hope this makes sense.

Connor Alexander

Thanks for the chapter Monsoon! I’m finding that the power creep is rather strong on this planet (credit to Pixelblade for pointing it out). Is this a symptom of a planet becoming a fringe world or a case of a volatile ecosystem on a rather exotic planet?

ja nein

hey loving your story since the moment you started it on rrl. But currently i feel as if our Mc starts to become a little like all those japanese light novel heroes. He is developing to be a little Mary Sue, basically being adept at everything and always saying the right things, basically having no faults. I would hate to see this story going down because of these reasons. This is just my personal opinion. Awaiting that epic fight scene next chap :)

Pixelblade

Something's been bothering me for a while now. In chapter 145: "Let Loose" Torix mentions that the highest level creature on Giess is about level 6500, yet we've consistently seen levels way higher than that. Is this a mistake or am I missing something?

Monsoon117

There's other stuff I have going on in the background. Just wait and see. I'm also really glad you're enjoying the other parts though too.

Zachary Smith

loving the arc. i really like how u intersperse the whole tournament with a second plot, the silvers. it keeps the tournament type arc from feeling drawn out, super long, or boring! perfect

Pixelblade

Aw man I thought the title was referring to Daniel leaving an impression on the ground with his meteor drop. I even chuckled at the pun! How cruelly you trick us.

Jess Koch

I think he wants to rip the crowd apart.

Alex R

Damm Tohtella ripped Kessiah a new one. Deservedly but damn. Second when Daniel wins the tournament he is going to rip the organizers apart.

Maritropa

Haha, next chapter should be called *Wham. bam, thank you ma'am*

Alex

It's evil what you're doing, writing such good chapters and leaving them on such dramatic cliffhangers 😭 who taught you how to write, Scheherazade???

Monsoon117

Eh, i can take that part out. I added it during editing so it didn't sound sudden.

Zeal Iskander

"I almost interjected, but I wanted to let Kessiah handle it. " but exactly two sentences later...

Monsoon117

Hope you guys enjoy the chapter. I've got a few awesome fights lined up, and I cannot wait to write them out. Let me know if you enjoying the arc as well.

Jess Koch
