Love your story. Thanks Monsoon

alexander julian

Okay that's cool. Thanks for the response. So Daniel adapting his approach mid fight, using his environment and all that. That's more if a human trait? As was his ability to continue fighting in Yawm's apocalypse and general ability to keep going despite adversity? Or us that more of a daniel/high willpower trait. Would the greedy/indervidualstic trait be considered a innate human trait or more of a western culture thing?

Monsoon117

We'd be considered fluid adaptalists, able to do anything but no the best at any one thing. We'd be considered pretty greedy, very individualistic, and optimists. I hope that helps.

alexander julian

What qualities to humans actually have compared to other races. We know there unusually big. But by no means the biggest. Are we better resisting disease? More charasmatic? Stronger? What are our weaknesses compared to the 'average sentient' what does the average sentient look like? I'm specifically asking for reference to how we would fit into a unique sub class. Or is there a subclass for dimensions lol

alexander julian

He's tryna be as subtle about his power as possible

Shannon Smith

Dragon ladies tilting their heat, huh? The first thing that came to my mind was "There's porn for that" lol.

Shannon Smith

Something tells me there aren't a whole lot of sentient creatures on that wisp's planet, lol. Not if they don't realize absolute control of the body and mind would be taken badly by sentient races. Though I'm also a bit curious about the ones who said 'yes'. "It's failed me almost without fail" means someone said yes at least once.

Shannon Smith

@s476 Would it really be out of character, though? He isn't 100% close range anymore with his gravity wells and a few other skills. And him creating a cannon isn't odd, because he's already made a few of them for Althea. I do think it would make a bit more sense to craft one then absorb or attach it to the armor somehow, instead of automatically giving the armor the ability. Though because its a dimension on its own, he could always blow up a star or two in it and use the explosion on the outside :P

Shannon Smith

That's oddly surprising, considering all the things his armor can do.

Monsoon117

Thanks my man. Fixed.

Xwaderman

She tilted her heat to me, dragon ladies tilting theyr heat... head i would think

yo! Love the series so far. Just joined up here because a good days work deserves a good days wage :). Biggest thing about this series i find enjoyable is that it is just fun to read. not overly serious or to in depth when it comes to stats and game mechanics, the fact that there always seem to be bigger fish is fun and realistic. I know from your comments and interaction with different people here that you don't "need" encouragement but here I am wanting to say something. Your story is compelling and enthralling to read, fun and somber at times, but overall a very enjoyable rising star epic. Keep up the fantastic work! I will state that I am a fan of c-138's work in crafting and the cipher so... :P

Monsoon117

Eh, it's fun to think of possibilities. I think something like a mass altering railgun would be possible and in character. Daniel reduces the mass of his own armor, throws a projectile with gravity enhancements, then condenses the mass of the object. That could be interesting, though his gravitational singularities would be more powerful and contained. Hmmm, I'll have to think about it.

s476

That would be totally out of character, no? Sounds kinda random

Alex R

Sorry, what i meant was could a summoner get the obliterator perks because they technically arent fighting solo due to the summons.

Monsoon117

Thanks and fixed.

Monsoon117

Daniel can tolerate it due to his natural tenacity, but he can't absorb it.

Monsoon117

Torix can't. He missed his chance by leveling up too safely and not managing his risk reward.

Monsoon117

It's supposed to be corporation. Thanks.

Monsoon117

I don't intend on adding an easy way to fix the mana pollution. I want it to be a difficult conundrum with pros and cons for both sides for the most part. Either Giess has to culturally shift completely(something the espens have been resistant too), or the planet will suffer. I like the tension it gives the situation.

Monsoon117

It's contextually misleading. I changed it to prepping with Torix for the interview.

Monsoon117

Sorry for the simple mistakes. Fixed.

Jonathan

looking back i can't actually find a place where mana pollution was said to have mana in it; it's only been said to be a toxic byproduct of using world mana. although as it takes so long for animals to evolve, it would be logical for there to be some natural, slow process to resolve the pollution that used to be in balance with its creation.

Gamertecno

I would love it if the next time Daniel ranked up his armor it gives him a ability called Cataclysm cannon. It would let him take the energy the armor currently has absorbed and fire it in a unholy blast of doom. I can't even imagine the devastation a blast fueled by several billion or trillion mana could cause!

Atlas Dwarf

I believe Daniel's problem is that while he could absorb the polluted mana, he can't put the original mana back. This is because he has no skill to filter/choose which parts of the mana he absorbs, so he'd just end up removing the mana altogether. Also if he tried replacing the missing mana with his own, well we've already seen why that's a bad idea. So he would need new skills (like the one turning electricity into mana) to actually filter the mana pollution.

Atlas Dwarf

Thanks for the chapter. Surprised Daniel didn't just use his telekinesis chair or a gravity well so he wouldn't have to sit in an undersized chair. "Where you there when Emagrotha and Lehesion duked it out?" Should be were.

Jacob Santos

Where was you this morning? I was expecting your comment and didn't see it.

Alex R

Could Torix get the obliterator trees due to being a summoner? And his summons being recognized by Schema.

Omega

Unfortunately, lower level slimes aren't added into the system to their lower level thinking. Should this be "due to"? A member of the Galactic Filming cooperation, did you mean to say cooperation or corporation?

Omega

Thanks for the chap

Jonathan

ok final question: can daniel absorb the mana pollution? cause so far he's basically been able to absorb everything except maybe arcane magic. so he could theoretically just sut in the muck and absorb mana at the same rate he expells it to the environment, replacing the mana hodge podge with a single type. Or would that amount of single type mana cause problems too? i can see why you wouldn't want to do this as a plot point as it would provide an easy armor upgrade when yiu want him to build his way up to it or improve in other areas.

Jonathan

BTW daniel still hasn't found a good way to purify the mana pollution yet, right? it seems odd that he wouldn't ask the alien going crazy about it if it knew of a way to clean up the mess. The interesting story question then is if you want the rock guy to provide an easy, medium, or hard solution. To me easy would be it builds a cleansing facility or daniel links him with the leaders of giess. medium would likely require daniel to do a service or set the stage and it takes decades. hard likely means there is no real solution and would just have to happen naturally.

Grevis165

Thanks for the chapter! Let the "trash talking" begin.

MattMick222

Where you there when Emagrotha and Lehesion duked it out (Were)

Monsoon117

This is extremely helpful. I will go back and fix this later today, and thank you a ton.

Jonathan

Interesting chapter, mention of blue core reminded me about an inconsistency related to them--in ch 153 overseer shows up and fuses 10 red into a blue and daniel just shrugs it off, while in ch 178/179 one's appearance is significant and described as a tiny star. Could change that meeting to the overseer encouraging daniel to purge more silvers and introduce that giess has been a problem for him. Oh BTW another inconsistency ch 154 aric says he doesn't know what Caprika wants and then proceeds to explain that in the halway. Could just say for a tournament, Danield would be interested to at least watch and then aric says lets discuss in private.

Demonuss

That was really enjoyable, got me all hyped up for that interview now.

BrauBaer

Thanks for the chapter! It was really entertaining and i am hyped for the interview.

Joshua Little

This was an excellent chapter. I think it was one of the most enjoyable in a while. Thanks for the chapter.

Corwin Amber

'interview with Torix' (first sentence). I don't believe Torix is correct :)

Leonard Marchant

"I've hated that spineless coward for years now. Someone should rip out his spine and feed it to the birds." What spine? Lol. Also, then should be than in like three places so far, I haven't finished the chapter yet.

s476

I am really curious though what the interplanetarys read of daniels status looks like

s476

Looks good :)

Monsoon117

This was a very long and very hard chapter too write. I hope it ended up pretty solid though. Well, in my opinion at least. It was fun to challenge myself with the characters I introduced, and finding a "voice" for each character was tough too. It was also 4,800 words long, so that's probably nice to see. Let me know if anything's off too. Always good to reflect and make sure it's solid.
