Man, I've been having fun with these chapters, and likely, that's evident by the more free form nature of them. I'm trying to find the right balance between unbridled enthusiasm and rigid structure. After editing so much, I'm leaning more towards the former than the latter. That's because I'm much faster at editing than I was before. This lets me go through the process of polishing a chapter for posting without having to rejuvenate myself. It's as if I augmented my own writing toolkit, and in turn, that unburdened other tools I relied upon. This gives me a lot of freedom to not only to plan out my chapters without quite so many rails, but it also lets me focus more on the writing itself. Whether or not that's enjoyed is a different perspective. I have a very dramatic style of writing, inherently speaking. If you guys have touched upon my first work, Monsters Dwell in Men, then you'll know what I mean. I relish in description, detail, and getting a bit more wordy than is necessary. That being said, I started the New World with the intent of instigating the opposite effect. I tempered myself, taking the sheer volume of assonance, similes, etc. out of my prose for the most part. I wanted it to be more barebones and 'readable.' I think after these years of writing, I can write out my scenes with enough clarity and cohesion that a bit of dramatic flair is fine. I know I enjoy it very much as well. I hope you all enjoy it too.
