What a fascinating discussion of the soul! I was totally not expecting that. If I had to paraphrase, I think one might view consciousness as dynamic, while data cloned from a brain, no matter how detailed, is merely a static copy. It's like copying the software isn't enough, you also need the hardware to run it (whether that device is chemical or electrical). This gets to the heart of the mind-body problem, which is central in philosophy. Great stuff!
