Just a story (DxD/Fate) Chapter one.

Just another snippet I was going to put in my snippet thread. Working on the regular chapter and it'll be out in a bit.

The world was quiet.
It was not a rare occurrence these days, it was rare for battles to shake the peace as humanity stepped out from the shadows of their Gods. That is not to say they left, simply….it seemed like a tactic understanding that humanity didn’t need to be babysat any longer.
It would be a cold day in hell before the Gods gave up their rightful places, but they no longer had to treat humans like children who might stick their fingers in power sockets if they looked away.
That’s why, the world was quiet tonight.
For whatever reason, for whims or schemes held in the dark, no one caused any trouble, so many simply sat in their homes in boredom, in peace, in quiet. Though the vast majority of beings that sat on the top, they wouldn’t care much about things below them.
A small change that happened, well it went mostly unnoticed.
The Gods didn’t see. Those who could peer into the vastness of future possibilities, it was like a new star appeared among the uncountable and wasn’t even noticed.
To their underlings, it was likewise unnoticed. Continuously down the pyramid of hierarchy, no one paid attention, no one cared to peer into the mortal world at something so…mundane.
Further and further down, it was likewise unnoticed until a young girl clicked the wrong thing on her computer and found herself redirected to another website with a certain advertisement laid out before her eyes.
At the front was a petite woman, glad in a knight’s armor with a beautiful sword in her hands. Blonde hair done up in a bun, and startling green eyes staring back through the screen.
Vaguely, the young girl could see the silhouettes, vague as they were, in the background. A mane in blue with a red spear, a hulking monster with a jagged axe of stone. A witch concealed under her cloak with a plethora of spells behind her. A woman with a blindfold, chains dancing around her. And a man in black armor with a strange red cloak around his waste and shoulders with a pair of matching black and white swords in his hands.
“Fate/Stay Night.” She spoke aloud and curiosity got the better of her, she clicked on it and it opened up a player.
Episode One began to play.

“Arthur, Arthur!”
“Le Fay?” A very aristocratic young man sipped on his morning tea as he noticed his sister running in. If anyone saw the two, it would be easy to guess they were siblings, matching eye colors and hair colors along with vivid facial features that connected them by sight alone. “Slow down, sister.”
“Arthur!” Le Fay Pendragon came tumbling in, practically falling over only to grab her brother’s shoulder before she truly tripped.
Two descendants of the famous King Arthur. Taking up the names of their Ancestor, Arthur Pendragon and Le Fay Pendragon. The Former wielded a handful of their Ancestor’s armaments, while the latter was a Witch of such talent that her namesake would even acknowledge the usage of her name.
“Le Fay, look at you?” The older of the two siblings put his teacup down, and gently rubbed her cheek. “Your eyes are red, did you stay up all night again?”
“Yup!”
“Don’t sound happy about it.” He gently flicked her forehead.
“Owie” She pouted. “I didn’t mean to!”
“Apologies is there a way to accidently force yourself awake for the entire night?” He said dryly.
“That’s not what I meant, you dummy!” She huffed. “I lost track of time.”
“I’ve told you to pace yourself when learning new magic.”
“It wasn’t magic!”
“Oh…?” Arthur’s eyebrow raised in surprise. His sister was obsessed with Magic, frankly, he didn’t know any other real hobbies she had. Sure, she liked to shop, liked to play, liked to do everything a young girl her age did, but she never really….invested time in anything else. “And what has my sister forsaking her much needed beauty sleep, hmm?”
“Scoundrel, brigand, rogue, rasca, beastl! What do you mean much needed!” She swung her dainty fist at his shoulder.
Arthur let out a sigh at her odd word choices. “You’ve been watching too many of those historical dramas with Jeanne.”
“There’s no such thing!” She squawked. “But that’s besides the point, I was watching a new show –“
“How surprising.” Arthur drawled.
“Stop interrupting!” She unleashed a fury of fists at him, unfortunately, not of them even managed to scuff his clothing.
“I’m sorry.” Arthur held his hands up in surrender. “I’ll listen, okay?>’
“Hmph!” She puffed up. “As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, I was watching a new anime, and got lost track of time. It was amazing Arthur! I laughed, I cried, I….it was amazing and I wanted to share it with someone.”
“Television isn’t really my thing, Le fay.” The older of the siblings admitted.
“It had King Arthur in it.” She quickly said.
Once more Arthur’s eyebrow rose his interest once more piqued. “You have my attention.”
“They made him a girl!”
“…..Is that so?” Very quickly his interest died down.
“It’s not what you think! It’s really good, and she’s great, like really good. I even found a Visual Novel that went so much more in depth with the story and everything!” She waived her hands around excitedly.
“Are you sure?” Arthur was forcing himself not to immediately dismiss it because it was his sister.
“She fought Hercules!”
Once more Arthur found himself intrigued, though the idea of their exalted Ancestor being a women…well, it wasn’t something that he hated, it just felt like an odd interpretation and felt like a recipe to mock the legacy rather than simply make a unique experience out of it.
“There were others too, Cu Chulainn, The Witch Medea, Gilgamesh, Medusa, and Hercules like I said. And others, but it was awesome!”
“Alright, I may look into it later.” Arthur replied.
“No! You have to watch it! Wait, watch it with me, I want to see everything from the start again anyways.!” She grabbed onto Arthur’s sleeve.
The Older sibling simply sighed in resignation. “Very well, but if I don’t like it after a few episodes, I will spend my time elsewhere.”
“You won’t regret it! Honestly, the way they describe magic….I honestly want to experiment with some things now. I think you’ll love the fights.” Le Fay smiled.
Arthur merely shook his head at her excitement as she led him back to her computer.
If it was to make her happy, wasting a few hours in front of a screen was not much of a sacrifice.

Elsewhere, worlds apart from one another, a young man looked up as his toaster made a noise and shot up with freshly made toast.
As he took it out, another sudden noise startled him enough that he nearly fell over and dropped his breakfast onto the ground.
Ding!

The Young man sighed in annoyance, with a low growl, he picked up his toast from the ground and tossed it in the trash can. He was regretting putting off doing the house chores this past weekend because his floor was just a tad too dirty to use the 3-Second rule.
He plopped his butt down in one of the chairs at the kitchen table and propped up his hand with one hand. “Status.” He groaned out.

He tapped his finger to the new ‘skill’ listed on his ‘status’, unfolding it for more information.

Alexander’s head fell down to the table. “Of course it’s a skill to help with releasing more of this…”
[Ding!]
[Attention, User. The tutorial is now over! With the release of Fate/Stay Night, you will now have to earn the release of other media! Work hard, user. Who knows, maybe the world just needs a new story?]
He waved his hand, dismissing the screens. He often wondered why his system didn’t give him any way to defend himself? No listing of his ‘stats’, no overpowered magic or skills just….this mundane stuff that seemed intent on him releasing things from the Fate Franchise of his past life?
It was odd.
He wanted to throw around magic, swing swords and cut mountains in half, fight dragons with his fists. Instead, he was learning Programming and Animation!
“Roll Gacha….” He forced out, exhaling in exhaustion as those were the same thoughts he’d been having for years at this point.
[Ding!]
[Mapo Tofu x1]
Alexander began hitting his head against the table repeatedly for several moments before depositing his ‘prize’ from the system.
A plate of Mapo Tofu fell on the table in front of him. He barely even blinked as he took the spoon that came with it, taking a bite of the prepared meal.
It was extremely spicy, but he actually enjoyed spicy things. So that wasn’t why he had a scowl on his face as he took a second bite, and another.
“It pisses me off even more because it’s so good!” He grumbled, eating it in place of his ruined breakfast.
He quickly finished up, putting the dishes in the sink and making sure he got nothing on his uniform. He glanced at the clock and realized he wasted more time than he intended.
Thankfully, Kuoh Academy was only right around the corner, so he had plenty of time to make it before being late.

Random snippet Idea I had the other day. Basically MC has a system related to releasing Fate stuff in DxD. The people of DxD will figure out that it’s a bit more than just a story.

I personally wouldn’t mind it if you want to take a break from your main story once a month and write a chapter of this and whenever you’re developing more burn out for your main story, focus on this one instead

We tend to get three updates per week one on mon/ tue another on wed/thur and the last one on fri-sun. Depending on the writing progress and how the week has been. So would we expect to get an update for this story on the weekend as a way to take a break from writing for your current story.

Hmm Crossedge has a similar premise to one of his stories and that’s doing really well, it’d be really interesting to see how you would write a similar story, your both really good writers, thought IMO your story telling is better, so it’d be a nice story to write after your current one ends maybe?
