Mothman Returns: Point Pleasant Legend to Chicago Terror

Three gravediggers, working in a cemetery hear something overhead. They look up and see a creature: almost ten feet tall with massive wings perched on a high tree branch; staring at them with glowing red eyes. Then in an instant, it's gone.
Three days later, just a few miles away, two young couples burst into the local police station. Terrified, they report being chased by a tall man with wings and glowing red eyes.
More and more people would report seeing a creature that stood on two legs, was at least 8 feet tall, and had wings.
Some said it was half-man, half-bird; others said half-man, half-bat. But that name that stuck was "The Mothman".
Though The Mothman terrorized hundreds of people for a year, it never physically harmed anyone.
But 13 months later, that would change. And 46 men, women, and children would end up at the bottom of the Ohio River.

Just watched this properly for the first time - love it! Wasn't keen on the film and I'd not heard about the later sightings. For me, I think it's a mutant owl. All the (actual!) descriptions do sound like an owl - all the reasons you put forward, plusd the various memes showing us owls with their feathers hitched up, revealing incredibly long legs! And if dogs can mutate or even evolve fast in the presence of nuclear waste, why not owls? America can support large predatory birds - so can Germany. I could believe this without much difficulty at all. Not so much the alternatives....

I would love to see a story on Indrid Cold because that to me is the creepiest part of the whole Mothman lore--is Indrid Cold an anagram for something? I loved the movie Mothman Prophecies. The beauty of TWF is I will sit and watch an episode about something I really wasn't interested in because I know AJ will make it interesting. I had heard of the Mothman, I even watched the movie with Richard Gere a decade or so back, but the topic never really grabbed me. It didn't seem even vaguely real. I left this episode considering for the first time that maybe there is something to the Mothman. Maybe. And, oh yeah, definitely voting for an episode on Indrid Cold, aka the grinning man, who I had never heard about until I watched this show.

I remember the news stories when the bridge went down (yes, I’m really that old!) I was a teen and for a long time after that I was terrified whenever I had to cross a bridge. When I heard about the Mothman stories years later the fear of bridges came roaring back with an added component. Wonderful video and great research! Thank you!
