20:16 You're barking up the wrong tree. There are multiple hidden codes within the Bible, but all the ones I have seen proven are based on encrypting the letters in to their numeric value, then extrapolating from there, using mathematical and numeric theory as well as numeric based encryption methods. There was even one similar to the hexadecimal system, as I recall. Obviously, they need to use the ancient scripture with the handful of original unchanged letters of the manuscript. Oh, and there was another project to find all of the hidden names of God (YHWH, the One True God) within the Bible. As I recall, there were a staggering number of names to be found, and once they were found the messiah would return to rescue humanity from the mortal coil, bound to Earth. As I recall, there was a fictional story written about the effort, vaguely based on facts. Sidenote: Probably more importantly, you've verified that the original text of the Judeo-Christian Bible-Torah has spanned the breadth of human history with better than 99.999% accuracy. Bless you!

Very good presentation. I remember the buzz when the book came out and hearing the dispute using other works. Whether other works produce similar results or not, that fact that so many were found in the Old Testament is significant. Always love Lord Hecklefish!!

I'm very indifferent to the bible code because languages are not a straight 1-1 translation, the bible HAS been changed DOZENs of times since then, and having been raised in a christian household (dad was a pastor) I never gave it anymore credence than entertainment value. That Vanilla Ice Joke had me HOWLING though. :D

Right, so many years ago I read the Old Testament and was always curious about the fact that sometimes it's ultra-detailed and others it's a bit vague. For example, the depth of the flood waters in the story of Noah is 30Cubits (eventually), the curtains in the Tabernacle should 4cubits by 28cubits, the Ark of Covenant should be 2.5cubits by 2.5cubits by 1.5cubits There are loads of things very precisely measured: candle sticks, doorways, etc., etc. All of which seemed a bit overly retentive to me. Anyway, I dug into it some more, and eventually, I amassed all the various measured items in the first 5 books of the Old Testament, noted their heights, and totaled them up. Then I played around with converting these Hebrew Cubits to Royal Egyptian Cubits, Roman Cubits, etc., one of them (I think Royal Egyptian Cubits) when converted came out at a height of, I think, 100 Poles (Poles, like Cubits, are a unit of measurement). This is odd, because 100 Poles is the height given in the Epic of Gilgamesh, a book that certainly influenced the story of Noah, but was Mesopotiamnian not Hebrew and what did Royal Egyptian Cubits have to do with it? Also, what was the significance of the number? The Mesopotamians blurted it out in the Epic, the Hebrews however buried it... (I think it was 100 poles, it's over 20 years now since I did all this, and certainly, the numbers matched exactly) also, it was the same height, so I'm told, as the Second Temple. I never got to the bottom of anything but I always believed, if you're going to send a secret message through time, about some arcane truth about the Universe, and let's face it, the ancient religions loved that kind of thing, then numbers were the way to do it, not words.

The "Bible code" has always struck me as patternicity meets Nostradamus, now even more so, and you nailed it: like Nostradamus, the benefit of hindsight allows us to reinforce the supposed accuracy. And, like you said, given a long enough text, one can derive any meaning. An author once rearranged passages from Lewis Carroll into a confession to being Jack the Ripper, while another wit took passages from that "exposé" and rearranged it into a confession to the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson.
