Coaching is certainly possible in some of these cases, in others it's hard to explain. One thing that struck me about Dorothy Eady's case is that the skeptics were trying to explain her away without any evidence on their side. All assumptive on what might have caused it.

The British Museum is a wondrous place, I recommend that everyone plan a couple of days' visit there when visiting London. I was mesmerized by the Assyrian Transept, returning to it dozens of times while a teenager. I have no explanation for why that culture, and its iconography, was so fascinating to me, but it was intense. I could easily see how someone with OCD could conflate an infatuation like that into spinning an alternate reality for themselves. The human mind is a fascinating thing.

I really enjoyed this episode, since not only do I believe reincarnation is real, since I was small I've had memories of past lives, that are still with me. In 1968 I began working for a psychic who, the day he hired me, had me sit down so he could give me a past life reading. He "saw" the lives I remembered, plus others, only confirming my belief. He did not ask any leading questions, he didn't even know I believed in reincarnations and had memories, he simply did his thing.

I love your content, but the Christian comment was a little out of the way. (Yes, here it comes.) How many different times have I read Christianity stole this from the Romans, or Babylonians, or Egyptians? What is being referenced is a motif, not really the story. Perhaps what you are hearing is an echo of truth in our yearning spirits rather than "copying" others. You hit on this very well when speaking of reincarnation and our desire for something after this life. It is too hip to try to take down Christiainity. It is fascinating how no one ever points out similar comparisons to Islam.

I had horrible asthma as a kid. Maybe the only thing worse was all of the medication that I had to take on a daily basis. The side effects of the medication on occasion gave me migraine headaches in the middle of the night. On those nights, my mother said that I would have strange visions. My father attributed them to dreams I was having alongside the migraine, however my mother wasn't convinced. She felt that the things that I was describing hit a little "too close to home" and she wanted some of the things that I was describing 'researched'. My father wrote down a few things but nothing ever came of it. I stopped having the migraines eventually, and never actually had any memory of the visions that my mother described. However terrifying, my mother was convinced that they were either from another life, or they were from the future.

I have heard of Dorothy Eady before and the things the egyptologists and archeologists did to try to disprove her served to prove her authenticity. As the saying goes there are far more things that we don't know than we do. Of course I believe there was a higher civilization beyond 50000 years ago that was all but wiped out. Either we escaped to the stars or our history is yet to be found. Maybe under the sphinx or some other place that those who know refuse to admit exists.

I'm always suspect of these reincarnation stories, but at the same time captivated. I can't get enough of them. Well done. Who knows maybe there is a limited number of souls and we are all recycled, weather true or not its wonderful to explore!

I’ve heard of one where a young child from India claimed to be someone murdered from another city. She ended up recognizing past Family members as well as the person who had murdered her. The past family actually considered her the incarnation and accepted her as who she was before. Very interesting stuff. I’m a firm believer in reincarnation.

Thanks for the comment. As noted, I didn't know about mine until 1995, so yeah, not every child remembers. Sometimes it takes a special trigger (like my past loved one coming by to impart some amazing wisdom that opened my mind). If we remembered every life we lived when we came into a new one, the memories would be overwhelming, Starting fresh (and keeping the past details blocked, though not forgotten) makes sure you can live the current one without everything getting in the way. But, details to come up, and as long as they don't get out of control, learning from those histories is a great thing.

I don't know if that would be awesome or terrifying lol. When my kids were little, my (now ex) wife used to ask them about their past lives to see if they could remember anything. We never got anywhere with it though. The reincarnation process seems to be pretty successful at erasing past memories a large majority of the time. Only a small percentage have any memory of previous lives. If science ever gets to the point where it can record memories and dreams that can then be viewed by others, maybe then we will finally get some proof of incarnation being a real thing.

Yep. Doctors weren't perfect at declaring someone dead back then. There are stories of doctors declaring people dead when they actually weren't. Here's a story from Smithsonian magazine: "In 17th century England, it is documented that a woman by the name of Alice Blunden was buried alive. As the story goes, she was so knocked out after having imbibed a large quantity of poppy tea that a doctor holding a mirror to her nose and mouth pronounced her dead. (Tea made from dried, unwashed seed pods would have contained morphine and codeine, which are sedatives.) Her family quickly made arrangements for her burial, but two days after she was laid in the ground, children playing near her grave heard noises. Their school master went to check the gravesite for himself. He found that Blunden was still alive, but it took another day to exhume her. She was so close to death that she was returned to her grave, where a guard stood by before deserting his post. The next morning, she was found dead, but only after struggling to free herself once more." Fuckin horrifying. People were so scared of being buried alive, inventors started coming up with safety/security coffins that would have ways to get air into the coffin and strings with bells attached to your toes and hands so if you moved, the bells would ring and the cemetery guard would have you unburied.

I'm a firm believer in reincarnation since 1995, when I had dream visitation from a past life that totally opened my mind to the subject. My written story of the experience was even published in the February 1996 issue of FATE magazine. I've been able to identify at least 6 lifetimes I've had and how I died in two of them from examining likes, dislikes and memories. One of them was also from Egyptian times, though definitely not of a higher standing like Eady's was. My title was the Watcher of Ra. In short, a watchmen. LOL My father helped figure out one of them, which makes sense because he remembered some of his own and had two near-death experiences in his life. Another fascinating thing about the story is that it supports my views I've discovered over the years that the other side of life is a time node, where individuals from any time period can chose a new incarnation to jump into. In this case, someone from the past becoming a child of the future to help others understand their ancient history.

My mother once told me her worst fear was waking up in a coffin because she was told of bells attached to rope going into the grave for the occupant to ring if they woke inside. Evidently it was a real thing before embalming.
