Hi AJ! I'm doing some catching up here. I hope the sinus/tooth issue has resolved for you! Your health is the priority, not much can get accomplished without it. I have cadaver bone in my back from my lumbar fusions. They suggested that it would work better than synthetic. 🤷‍♀️

Whoa, the cycle of pain... It starts with a cavity, if you're old made with toxic mercury, of course the filling is never the exact same hardness as the tooth so that in itself is a problem or it degrades in time or it damages the tooth, either way it gets redrilled and refilled and that repeats till the nerve is exposed, then you get a root canal, always an unpleasant experience, which of course means removing the blood flow and nerve from the tooth essentially killing it. A dead tooth degrades and becomes brittle and eventually breaks, I had one of those yesterday. Of course the dentist will recommend an implant, but the cycle continues. First as you now know they'll want to build up the bone a little with a graft before they install the titanium post. There's always the risk of infection and of course titanium is harder than bone that in itself can cause damage and wear but fortunately bone heals. I know what it's like. I too have very long roots, every time I needed a root canal the dentist needed to special order the files. One time I had an extraction of an upper molar where the roots took the bone with them and left a hole from my mouth to my sinuses that took a year to heal. Sorry about all this, hearing about dentists triggers something in me. I hope you're healing well and your sinus troubles are resolved.

I'm in St Pete too! Our house had zero damage, but my job was 3 feet under water. Been all week getting it cleaned up. So many people lost everything that the landfills are full. Not sure where the rest of the debris is supposed to go.

I have some incredible things I can send you from a good friend of mine who just passed away. He worked for GE aka you already know his whole life. He was the top dog for a long time and stayed under the radar, traveled the world as an “electrical engineer”. I have evidence of space weapons from the 40s/50s. I have some of their budget copies, blueprints, tons and tons of stuff.

Bone grafts from dead people!! 🤣🤣🤣 I had implants and they used dead people bones. I couldn’t stop laughing. Now I was on gas so I would stay calm. And I’m grateful for that bone as I still have my implants. You’ll get back to talking normal it just takes time. I had a lisp too and my muscle memory naturally adjusted over time.

Good to hear! I had most of my teeth knocked loose in a bicycle wreck when I was 14. Dealt with dental problems for the next 50 years. The pain was indescribable. Finally went to full dentures at 66. Strange how the removal of pain could be so odd.

Oh… I can tell you absolutely love having cadaver bone in your mouth! For your new podcast area, not only the 70’s, but a sprinkling of the 60s, too for us old guys. Remember, we were the ones that watched and believed in the original moon landing. And don’t worry, I’ve had posts implanted, and it was a piece of cake. The crazy thing is, a year later they took a picture of one post and they showed me the x-rays. It clearly has a smiley face on it. No shit. Wish I could send you a picture of it. I'm immune to novacaine. My childhood visits to the dentist were what nightmares are made of. To this very day, I can't watch The Marathon Man. When Carpenter remade The Thing, they kept a poster on the wall from the set of it's predecessor. (She's in a cowboy hat.) It was a nice touch and only the real fans of the original caught it. Go for things only your fans might notice.

My basement had naugahyde couches and the old (hand-me-down) stereo receiver and turntable so I could blast Van Halen, Run DMC, and Depeche Mode until the neighbors would complain. I sympathize with your dental woes. Because of all my myriad of problems, my teeth just started cracking, yes, it hurt! My dentist gave me a prescription for pain killers that I carried with me all the time. When it got to the point we started talking about pulling things, I just wanted to get them all out of the way. I just decided to go with old fashioned dentures, because I too have a messed up tooth root to sinus ratio and my dentist didn't want to mess with my bones crumbling. So I have dentures and I think I might have it much easier than people who have implants. I just want to wish you all the best with your dental adventures.

I know your pain! Glad you're on a path to healing. This year I broke a front tooth...I now speak with a lisp, which is taking me down a bridge...tooth bridge. As for the cadaver, my husband had this done. I find it kinda creepy, but it allowed for him to receive a tooth implant. We went two different routes and both have been successful procedures. Be well...and think of your new bone as a selfless gift from a person wanting to help others.

You think ouch that crap burns (in your vein) next thing you know you're trying to talk with cotton rolls in your mouth. It's the only way to have dental work done. My sinuses are wavy on the bottom due to my my teeth roots.... but once I got to ENT, all I needed was a big septum fix to make some room, my sinuses worked great, just needed room to breathe through my nose. I needed a bone graft in my lower jaw after an extraction gone bad (my fault). The dental surgeon placed cadaver bone and read the description of the donor to me while the procedure was happening. A young man had died in a motorcycle accident and generously was registered as an organ donor. My emotions and maybe the nitrous oxide got to me and I cried for him. Over the years I sometimes think and him and thank him. But humans recycle their bone material every ten years so I am no longer "part cadaver", but I am forever grateful to organ donors and count myself among them.

You’ve probably heard this before, but try a Neti pot for your sinuses. It helps. Use ONLY DISTILLED WATER. Do not use tap water. You don’t need brain worms. Mouth problems are such a pain! I have cadaver bone for my graft too. I knew before-hand. I asked about how they did it. I write service manuals for medical surgical equipment so I was curious about the process. My eyes got big when he told me (vegan here) but he assured me it was from bodies donated to science, and was finely ground and sterilized. And, it's from multiple people. I'm pretty grateful, but I still don't have my implant. The dentist keeps trying to upsell me mouth guards, etc, to preserve my $10,000 tooth. I'm close enough to the end of my time on this plane that I'm not worried about a tooth. GOOD LUCK. Dental stuff has come a long way. So glad I sprung for the sedation during the extraction/bone graft. I took a light nap and voilà, a minute later, everything was done! Also, You Tube is fine. I love the commercials! Bonus, the oral surgeon gave me a tour of his imaging equipment! Surgical navigation... fun stuff!

Have a terrible story 4 ya... Grusome, soo if that's not ur style stop here cause I had the exact same scenario. Double rooted canines. Had the same issue with feeling everything, always needed 6 shots b4 it would take. After the surgery and the posts were put in, eventually i got punched in the face 1 too many times.. It began to wiggle. Every time it did I would get an abscess that would blow up that whole side of my face. It got so bad i pushed on my face until it ruptured out through the gaps. After that i made an incision on the roof of my mouth to drain it. No joke.. Serious, i couldn't deal with it anymore and didn't have money so.... .... i grabbed pliers & ripped the implant clear out, posts n all. I saved it as a keepsake. Just don't do what I did. Go see the barber-surgeon. 😉

AJ, I have a sinus cavity story. I thought I had a sinus infection for a year, with facial pain, and went to an ENT, who ordered a CAT scan. He brought the staff in when he showed me the scan. I have a tooth in (absorbed by) my sinus cavity. Probably since childhood. Weird right? I prefer watching here over YouTube myself. Looking forward to the compilation- healing blessings ❣️

3 things.. 1) I am dealing with the exact same things as you are with the sinus problems and implant. Which my donor bone and implant is already in. And honestly, the stress was getting that drilled in my skull was all before hand. It actually didn't take that long and wasn't that bad. But weirdly I have been wanting more Asian food lately? 2) I watch the compilations on youtube because I think it helps the channel. If not, I would watch everything here. I have a big love / hate with youtube.. 3) My implant is top left bugs bunny tooth that was removed. So now I either have a fake tooth in or look like a hillybilly with a lisp. So I`m ready to get past this myself. Like me, enjoy your temporary lisp and don`t worry about it. Sorry for the long read, I don`t reply much, but when I do I usually have a lot ta say....

Like monster from the Black Lagoon, the old war of the worlds posters or the 50 foot woman… Had some of those around my bedroom growing up. Unfortunately, I don’t have them anymore. Oh my God, I had the same exact experience when I was young. They said the same things to me that I was just a big baby and I even had one dentist slap me because I started to cry. I was only about eight years old at the time and I’ve had a severe fear of dentists ever since. I’m one of those people that would rather have open-heart surgery then go to a dentist anytime.
