And no it's not because of Princess and the Frog, I promise! xD (Although I adore that movie.)
I heard something in passing and it ignited something in me, and I am determined to reproduce the sound for my own storytelling purposes and your own enjoyment.
So if you have any references, be they from a movie, a show, a song, an interview, a video, a meme, an audiobook, whatever! If you know of something with a New Orleans accent, please send it my way!

Ok, so, do you want New Orleans accent or a Cajun accent? Because they’re not the same, but the Cajun accent is probably more famous and definitely more distinctive than New Orleans. Also, New Orleans is pronounced “Nwalins” not “Nahlins.” Source: My mom’s family is from Louisiana.

I don't know if it's got any new Orleans accents but "The Originals", a show about vampires takes place in New Orleans.
