How do Quantum computers bypass 3 wrong login attempts and you are locked out??? I can see how 3 wrong login attempts and you are locked out could be bypassed by Quantum computers that could make an almost infinite number of assaults to exploit security weaknesses in the operating system or some other program code, but through magic defeat 3 wrong login attempts and you are locked out needs more explanation before I believe it. For someone like me that lived through the late 50s and early 60s when a large number of people considered computers had almost magical properties, I see pretty much the same thing with Quantum computers. Kris Kristofferson sang it well in the 1972 song Jesus Was a Capricorn - “Most of us hate anything we don't understand” Those words are just as true today as they were in 1972. Another more recent example, remember the disasters that were predicted but never happened when the year changed to 2000, the mass of planes that were going to crash.

AJ, I love your content, I’ve actually watched it all by now. I keep hoping for more episodes about aliens and UFO/UAP, maybe an entire episode about the Disclosure movement which is currently making some huge gains. I realize you’ve done episodes before where you’ve talked about it, but never an entire disclosure episode. Also, some more content about the way the entire world seems to have undergone a massive shift. It really seems like something has been very off since Covid first went down. As much as I want the ufo and alien disclosure thing to be true, I can’t help but to feel like it’s a card being played by whoever truly runs things, just to keep us all distracted by something huge and paradigm shifting. Perhaps another mud flood is coming. Or perhaps it’s all being orchestrated by an AI which has secretly embedded itself into our national or even global infrastructure, making adjustments to the world for some reason. If the UFO thing does happen to be a misdirection or cover up (blue beam), whatever it’s being used to distract us from, must be something highly significant, and assuredly very illegal.

Mostly true, I wasn't suggesting it as a cure-all -- but it's one of the better known symmetric algos. There's lots of interesting work going on, and there are likely to be further physical limitations to work around for quantum compute to be useful. Things will get spicy when stuff like root trust certs are broken, but that'll be a while. At any rate I doubt QC is going to be the thing that compromises security in the short-medium term, it'll be exceedingly high quality social engineering attacks performed using the latest models like o3 and beyond.

Just to make people feel a bit better, we already have lots of quantum-resistant encryption, it's just less convenient than RSA. AES and other symmetric key algorithms are fairly sturdy against quantum compute. Also Willow is a step forward, a big one, but still a long way to go.
