🕑 Added 2022-05-07 05:25:36 +0000 UTC먼 지방까지 왕복 800km가 넘는 운전을 하고 집에 도착하고 나니 진이 쑥… 오는 길에 너무 졸려서 휴게소랑 졸음쉼터를 몇군데나 들렀는지 모른다. 장례식장이 외진 곳이어서 비행기 타고 가기 애매해 운전을 시도했는데… 마치… 발에 안맞는 구두를 신고 나간 날 집에 돌아오는 길에 구두를 벗어 손에 들고 맨발로 오게되는 것처럼, 나의 소중한 차 은자를 도저히 끝까지 몰고 못오겠다 싶을 정도로 졸렸다. 운전하다 세워서 자고, 운전하다 세워서 자고, 낮 12시에 출발했는데 자정이 다 되어서야 겨우 도착했다.
제대로 씻지 못해서 꾀죄죄한 몰골이었는데 씻고 나니 이제야 좀 살겠다 싶고.그 와중에 조조한테 반갑다고 장난치다가 코를 물려서 상처난 곳에 연고를 바르고 ㅎㅎㅎ 이번주 주말은 휴식과 요양으로 결정이다. 흉지면 안되는데…
난 할머니와 그렇게 감정적으로 가까운 관계는 아니었어서 마음이 많이 힘들지는 않았지만 한 사람의 끝을 지켜보는 것은 여러가지 생각이 들게 한다. 막 화장을 마쳐서 따뜻한 뼛가루를 손에 올리고 보고 있자니 우리 모두 순서만 다를 뿐 결국 이렇게 한줌 재가 되는구나, 인생 참 짧고 허망하다 싶었다. 그냥 먼지같아서 더 그랬다. 내 몸을 지탱해주는 뼈의 가루도 정말 특별할 것 하나 없이 그저 한낱 먼지네.
인생 정말 짧다. 살아 있는 동안 맺는 인연에 감사하고 좋은 감정과 시간을 나누며 살아가고 싶다. 죽는 그 순간에는 모든 원망 기대 집착 다 내려놓고 “내 인생 참 즐거웠다” “감사했다” 말하며 갈 수 있기를. 그렇게 살아야겠다.

Good choice parking your car for a nap when too sleepy to continue driving on the road as well! Falling asleep while your car is moving in traffic is extremely dangerous (I also have needed to park my car for a nap on extra long road trips myself! ^^)

Never being able to see a loved one again is always the saddest news, sorry to hear. You're right we all need to live our best lives now so that we won't regret at the end. Seeing the end of a person's life reminds us of how our own future could be both similar and different.

Everything dies, everyone is temporary. Gratitude and forgiveness is most important. You're allowed to decompress and be human. I'm sorry to hear about your loss and the stressful journey. Please take your time. It's true, all things considered we are all made of stardust... But just like each star can shine brightly and different from all the other stars, each human being can shine unlike any other human if they choose to do so. You are right, life is limited and should be enjoyed to the fullest. It might seem like taking lazy days could be a waste of time. But relaxing and just doing nothing productive can be very fulfilling every now and then. So even lazy days are part of enjoying life to the fullest, it's no contradiction at all. Please take your time.

I'm sure your grandmother lived an important life to make her grandchildren possible.
