Another perfect example is "bogo ship da" which if you word for word translate it is "I want to see you" but what it actually MEANS when you say it in korean is "I miss you". They're SIMILAR but just slightly different enough in intention/meaning that it makes a difference. Just one of those lost in translation things

so....bap mukja just means "Let's Eat!". If you google translate it, its likely it'll say let's eat rice or lets eat a meal bc the word for food and the word for rice (bap) is the same. But in korean.....a lot of times the meaning of the phrase isn't the direct word for word translation. In this case, it just means "Let's Eat!". If you were to ask me how do you say "Let's eat rice" in korean.....I would never say bap mukja....I'd say....actually, Im not sure bc thats something no one would ever say really or ask in that way. I guess it'd be ssal muguh shipuh (ssal is another word for rice-and that translates more to do you want to eat rice? ) and it just sounds really weird to JUST say Let's eat rice (ssal mukja).
