To bookend "The Mountain Top" series, here is a follow-up promo to contrast the preview promo image of the two protagonists before they're journey and to showcase how far they've come afterwards.
As mentioned, this series was designed as a sendup to past eras of pro wrestling and the particular standards for how male and female performers were expected to look in the 80's, 90's and early 00's. Specifically, there was a time where only big (roided), muscled guys were considered as main eventers. Pro wrestling has long been considered the land of the giants, and barring a handful of exceptions, only in recent years have smaller more technically-gifted wrestlers been given their moment in the spotlight. But even in the modern era, there are examples of mid-card guys putting on a shit ton of muscle and are suddenly thrusted into the main event scene.
Women on the other hand, especially in the 90'-00's were treated solely as eye candy. Their wrestling was never taken seriously, and even when they had matches in that era, they were silly gimmick matches and catfights intended to titillate a primarily male demographic. It was a time when companies literally favored hiring lingerie models over actual wrestlers, and even the girls who were capable of working in the ring were still "encouraged" to get massive boob jobs and up the sex appeal in what they wore and how they behaved on camera.
Rick and Katelyn's transformations were designed to reflect all this. Rick is an example of that talented, but not physically imposing mid-carder who jobs out to the stars on a weekly basis until he puts on a bunch of muscle to propel him to being a top star in the eyes of fans and management. Katelyn begins with the strong athletic physique that you commonly see in real life female wrestlers today (who are now treated seriously as competitors). Over the course of her transformation into a top star, she drops the muscle mass and gets leaner more in line with swimsuit models with of course plenty of additional T&A.

I appreciate this little debate and you both clearly expressed your positions on feedback. I respectfully understand that everyone has their own reasons for supporting me on patreon, and not everything I make will be to everyone's preference. So, let's end it here and civilly move one to future projects.

Ummm..... I am in fact here to pay someone for art that I like. that is in fact the purpose of the freaking Patreon! Otherwise we would be having this discussion on a forum where dynamoobwas posting for free wouldn't we? I gave my honest opinion and the reasons. Other patrons are welcome to post their opinions as well which is why we have a comments section. Dynamoob is of course free to take my opinion to heart or not as they so desire but the idea that I don't have a right to express my opinion just because a few more people might speak the other way is utterly absurd. I for one was attracted to this patreon by the Accolades series. I find this to be inferior to that and I'm within my rights to say so. I may leave, I may stay... that's entirely up to myself and the artist. I reject your attempt at censorship and if you don't like it, you are welcome to kiss the brownest part of my Lily white ass.

Don’t Patron then, why pay for something you are unhappy with. You don’t become an elevate human by patroning a creator. You aren’t the only person who has subscribed to Dynamoob. Their content isn’t made for you, you are here to get exclusive content that they offer. You are not paying to have them make things you like. I’m sure there were plenty of other Patrons that thoroughly enjoyed this one because of the theming. But in the end, you harmfully critiquing an artist will only push them down. What’s more productive is saying what you didn’t like and encouraging different outcomes through positivity. Because when an artist is told that people liked their work but it’s flawed it encourages them to work better and learn from their mistakes.

except i didn't like the progression AND there wasn't enough story. I knew where it was going by the second picture, and there was no deviation from the standard. I gave an honest opinion. As the one paying money, i am NOT obligated to be "nice." The artist i patron has done interesting things in the past. this is not one of those things.

While I agree this wasn’t the best work Dynamoob has ever created, as it suffered from telling the story of both and ended up kind of just a highlight reel. It was still quite good, and I feel you could made a nicer comment like “Damn I liked the progression but there wasn’t enough story to back it up for me, would love to see a small comic or even a whole comic for this” Which is actually constructive.

I wanted to make a point at the beginning that this was going to harken back and homage past eras of the sport. I too think it's for the better that women are now able to compete and perform as proper athletes like the men.

As a wrestling fan myself, i was put off a little by the transformation (even though we are all here for it :p), thinking it was disrespectful to the incredibly talented divas we have now. I’m happy that it was intended from the start to showcase the superficiality of those eras of pro wrestling. Nice work as always! ˆˆ
