this was really the first time where a scene lived up to its name in a sense where a character says how traumatising the death would be for the kids. and it really was that traumatising maybe even more so than I could have imagined

There are a handful of instances in Buffy where a single short scene with a one-off actor makes the whole episode for me, and Buffy's cousin screaming her head off is one of them. That is the perfect reaction to what Der Kinderstad does, I mean jesus

This is me commenting towards the beginning and not after your reaction or review. I also can see your take on this. Getting more insight into Buffy and loss. Ergo, I just wished we got more focus on Giles than he was given. But I do like the moments we did have with him.

This is truly one of the scariest big bads of Buffy, despite me not loving this episode. I just realized/or remembered how weird the placement was of the episode. It's the first episode following Jenny's death... like.. what were they going for? "Everyone dies. Even kids. It sucks" ??? There were some good overarching plot and moments throughout the episode, but the overall theme- my goodness.
