xander was really going from one end to the other for how i felt about him this episode

Oops. I accidentally left this comment on the wrong reaction. Sorry about that. I agree, Xander handled the rejection badly. You don't beg, and you don't make a girl feel bad for saying no. Xander can be frustrating, because he does some wonderful things for his friends and he would defend them with his life even though he doesn't have superpowers or any special fighting skills. But then he can also be a jerk sometimes. But, that's the thing. I like that the characters aren't perfect, and that the show isn't afraid to give even the good guys flaws. They make them complex and screw up, sometimes badly. This show isn't afraid to go to some deep or even dark places, as you've seen. I also rather like the Master's relationship with the Anointed One. He often gives him advice and tries to teach him about how being evil or working in a family unit with vamps should work. LOL And I like the part with the earthquake too. It showed that he can joke around with the kid and have fun with him. He's almost like a father figure to him, just like Giles is with Buffy.
